Putting on hold my RXG restoration for some reasons

    1) Started the restoration of 1998 RX135.
    2) Stripped it at my home, given the frame, engine case and other parts a diesel wash and a clean water wash.
    3) Frame painting done by my regular painter (from a car workshop)
    4) Engine center case is brushed and cleaned (looks almost brand new, no plan for painting the center case)
    5) Engine rebuild completed with 2OS Goetze piston
    6) Vehicle assembly started last night

Will be using the parts procured for RXG (as much as possible) for this restoration.
More updates and snaps to follow every day.

      Good going there Mr. Boss.

Whats with the rear suspension bro ? Why does it look like that you have given a preventive coating to it ?

Also did you coat the fender inners with araldite ?

Old rear suspension is fitted just for a support. Will be replaced with brand new ones (Got a pair of Pulsar Shocks and right now it is with painter to match the color of Hubs and engine case)

Regarding araldite in rear fenders, can you please through some light? I haven't done yet.

Get some araldite and coat it to the inner side of the mud gaurds and give this combination the necessary curing time.
This shall give you a much longer life of the mudgaurds - as they are constantly in contact with water from the inner side.

Heard CT-100 shocks do the job better, give a thought though.

Instead I have painted the inner side of mud guard with silver paint.
Is this sufficient or should I proceed with araldite too?

And the rear shocks, for my other bike (RXG) I will consider CT-100 ones. Thanks for the information.

As long as you are satisfied with the paint underneath. Just make sure you have made a barrier.
Paint shall also do, but I guess not as good as the araldite coat.

It is not going to cost much. So I will also add another layer of araldite.

I guess you can find couple of tubes under 100 bucks in any hardware shops.

Can someone please help me sourcing the powerbox (resonance box / YEIS box) at Chennai?
The one I had in the bike has a crack. Tried almost every shop in GP Road.

I have painted with car's underchassis paint on to both the fenders thus prevents rusting.

Any paint should prevent rusting. Just use the paint which You have at home.

Try in Sri motors Ashok nagar. The last time I checked it was 449/- with the spring and clips. Not sure if they are still available. Else try in GP road there is an authorized dealer for Yamaha spares.
