I don't know if they are from TVS (nothing marked over the heads except the grade 12.9) and they came with coating
But I have been using the fasteners from this sellers for a couple of years and never faced any rusting issues.

          Got the original silencer plated.
Will be fixing it this weekend (the only pending work in this bike, after which I will be concentrating on RXG restoration)

Quality of "Quality Metal Works - Chennai" is diminishing now-a-days
Nickel plating started peeling-off in the spokes and starts building rust.

Got another set of spokes plated from a different source. Will change them in near future (one the RXG restoration is completed)

Not sure why, but most of the plating places skip the "curing" process. This is one of the important phase where the material is let settled over the parent material. And eventually the result is this !
Stop at RED and go at GREEN !!!

Is that Quality Metal Works at Ellis Road? I have tried giving job work, they ain't good. I'm still searching for a good plating shed for my upcoming restoration.

Not sure, but one of the fact being Quality Metal works started focusing on the quantity rather than quality.
I feel they are overloaded now-a-days. When we complain about their job they are least bothered to hear it. To the extreme, the worst response I got was "get it done from any other source if you get a better finish"

                    yes Sriram.
I have seen few examples of their job (done around a couple of years back) and quite impressed with that. But now the situation is just opposite.

Go for new rim and spokes set. Atleast it won't embarass you for atleast a year (if your bike is in Chennai).

happened to me too in the kb ,later came to know that plating wont hold onto spokes due to virtue of them being under constant stress, but that doesnt explain the nipples though

                                That's were I'm surprised.
Spokes plated from other source is very much intact (purposely tested few spokes for over tightening. It holds well)
