Of course, you might have helped / helping fellow members with pointers on spares, etc. But the oneliners & FB like comments do spoil the thread intention.

Sorry if you feel it harsh, but I mean it.

There are other forums where the spammers / oneliners / FB like comments were simply banned. Fortunately the Moderators here are very friendly and liberal.

Running-in period depends upon the clearance set during the rebore process. Lesser the clearance, more is the running-in period. And vice versa. 1300 km is a good figure for the running-in period but again it depends how was this achieved. It is not necessary that you must always ride the bike less than 50kmph while running-in. Doing a bit of 60-65 just for few seconds when it hits the powerband and then backing off shall set the rings even better.

Is this pulsar disc set up a direct fit to any version of rx, or are there any modification required, iwas also thinking of adding disc to my rx but the mechanic suggested me complete gladiator disc setup and that too with such a price that i shelved the idea how much of this pulsar set up is costing you can you plsssss give more details.

That's good. You mean you changed the transmission oil, right ?
Try going with 3% of mineral 2T oil + 1% of motul SS for next approx. 1000 kms.

Then go on with 1% of mineral + 2% of motul SS for another 500 kms
Eventually transform your ride into a fully motul adapted vehicle.
If you wish then you may switch to motul 710 FS but not required though :-)

gradually move to FS oils in transmission as well.
You will love the performance of the ride, just smooth !!

Hi Augmentor, is the mineral 2T to be used for running in only...would a complete Semisynthetic 2T oil be not the best for running-in period. In case mineral 2T is not available, what other oil can we substitue for this.

Most of the 2T oils in the market are semisynthetic, I would be grateful if you could share the brands that are fully mineral 2t please. Also is there any fully synthetic 2t available readily and how much would that cost.

Mr.Boss, sorry for hijacking the thread here. But would like to answer srikany.

All we intend in a running-in period is that the rings seat in properly - which is the edges sit in properly. The reason for using a mineral oil is, you would need the rings to seat in properly and have a friendly bond with the liner.
This can be only achieved when you let the rings make good contact with the liner. The mineral based oils are lubricant but not of a very good quality.
This lets the rings seat/make their way efficiently during the running-in period.
But make sure that you do not end up using a very cheap mineral oil which does not do the basic job of lubrication also.

Imagine if you use a performance SS or FS oil during a running-in period, the rings will hardly contact the liner because of the superior lubrication film quality.
Hence not advised to used a Synthetic oil.

Go for Mak 2T. For FS oils go with Motul, but make sure you follow the basic procedure of switching to FS as told earlier. (sorry, not sure what's the current cost).

Full mineral2t oil :Castrol super TT (old faithful , cheap, will make your engine smoke like an old steam engine) , Full synthetic 2t oil : Motul 800 (hideously expensive but worth every penny , cannot be used with pumps ,premix only)

Motul 800V Fully Synthetic 1 liter pack costs 75-800 bucks last known. The viscosity is so thick that 2T oil pump might not push enough to feed the mixture before it goes to engine chamber and chances of seizure cannot be ruled out. That's why the Motul 800V pack clearly mentions that it is only for premix.

I was thinking of using this 2t when my current yamalube 2t ends, but you have ruled out that it's so thick that the pump cannot feed the oil to the engine, so which semi synthetic 2t will you prescribe.
