    bladerunner,

thanks for your replies. i see you are in mumbai too. could i pm you for some help regarding engine work on my bike ?? i hardly know anyone personally through experience who does good work on rx bikes. i found a guy recently, got some routine maintenance done from him, but not sure if he will do good engine work as well.

    your inputs will really help.

    thanks,

There once was a woman who was quite begat.
She had three babies named Nat, Pat, and Tat.
She said it was fun in the breeding,
But found it was hell in the feeding
When she saw there was no tit for Tat.

Contact atul_astro. He is very good with 2 strokes. His number is 9224505079.

The local mechanics will screw up your engine.

Bladerunner, it seems to me that your bike is perhaps not using enough 2T oil.

1800km on a 1.3 (? if my memory serves me right) litre tank seems to be a tall order - I'd recommend you increase the flow. Ideally, you should use up a litre in 1200 or less km.

Having said that, I'd also like to state that my approach has always been to err on the side of caution - that is, to run the bike on a rich oil mixture. This has worked extremely well for me.

Essentially, the way to judge if the oil isn't enough is to go on a long, high revving ride. After say, 50+ km of this, you'll find that the normal flow of 2T oil from the exhaust has stopped even with a high flow, and the muffler is dry with burnt oil. This may be incorrect, but its just something I watched.

The bike feels very smooth. If the oil flow was less it would feel a little rough. I'll still take it to the garage and ask the mechanic about it.

Atul recommends 16-18 ml per liter and I'm using fully synthetic oil.

When I found out, I was told that the 135 should give around 1400 kms on a liter of 2T.

Highest rated 2 stroke oil currently available - Motul 510

Guys, Motul 510 has landed in India from France. It is now available in Pune with the distributor. For other cities, please contact Motul and request for it.

Save the fully synthetic ester based Motul (which is v expensive), this is the next best oil available in India

                Advantages:
Its the highest rated oil in India - JASO FD. No other 2t oil of this rating is available
Highest engine cleanliness compared to any other oil in India; hence much lesser need for risky manual decarbing
                Semi-synthetic/Technosynthese - ester based
                Made in France

Those here who are using the expensive Motul 800 and mixing it with cheaper oils for economy can consider this much better option, as its anyway an ester based semi-synth. Furthermore, Castrol Jet X seems to have been discontinued and Shell VSX2 is also not available anymore (at least in Poona... don't know about other cities), we hardly have any half decent choices.

Guys, please consider trying this out. Future import of this oil will depend on whether there is some minimum demand for it. Price is a bit above Rs. 350/litre.

Those in Pune, can get their requirements right away from the distributor - 9850917992. Guys in other cities, if the product is not available with your local distributor, call/email the Motul guys who can make it available, depending on demand - 9920844428, 9920733582, abalwally at alsl.net, preetamg at alsl.net.

Please do post your reviews after using it.

                      • 16-18 ml to a litre is too less.

Motul 800 2t you should be running about 25 ml to a litre on an RX. For motors which consistently see 5 digit RPMs, about 27~30 ml to a litre.

My stock 5 speed which does 9500 rpm in 5th runs on 30 ml to a litre of petronas Sprinta 5000 2t.

My ported piped RXZ runs 27~30 ml to a litre of Motul 800 2t.

My RD runs 27~30 ml of pure Motul 800 2t to a litre.

None of my bikes run the oil pump, just don't trust it(don't want a war here on that, I have my reasons.)

Shell VSX is a decent semi synthetic oil IIRC.

If you are running anything which ain't fully synthetic, so barring sprinta 5000 and motul 800, you should be running 35~40 ml to a litre.

You run motul 800 at 35~40 ml to a litre you will be fouling plugs every 15 kms that oil is so thick.

But is the VSX2 still available? Both the shell pumps here say there is no stock. One of them said they have ordered it months ago, but there is no more supply from Shell. It seems Shell and Castrol (Jet X) are pulling out of the 2 stroke business??

Btw, Sprinta 5000 may not be a true fully synth product. Unless the company declares the tech details of its composition, the fully synth label could be just a marketing gimmick. Motul on the other hand declares its ester base, and so you can trust that to be a true synthetic.
