Right now,My exams are going on,so I will be needing the bike for many small trips like for sourcing books and stuff. So I have to do it later.

He also told me that rebore means proper compression will be there and so engine might become more efficient and noticeably more powerful in the same time....which is a really nice thing!

Will update you guys on more information soon!
Ok my engine also has some noise which I'm sure will require some work like reboring maybe. I'm sure its in even worst condition that ur engine. we'll see how ur rebore turns out. As I said before I have also bought parts for my restoration. But I won't be doing it anytime soon becauz right now I have some other commitments. l'll do it one day and I'll let u know. I'm looking for a complete back-to-factory condition restoration. Just tell me where can I get it done. I'm in medavakkam chennai.

      I need to do :- ( Major things )

      1. Engine/Gearbox -> Complete Restoration whatever needs to be done to get it in near fresh-out-of-the-factory condition. ( painting also )
      2. Chassis/Fuel Tank Repainting -> I have bought MAX100R complete sticker set already from pudhupet.
      3. Electrical Work -> Complete work on electricals -> current electricals are 99% dead...only the ignition is working....

I'll PM you the parts that I'm looking for...plz wait....

What do you mean sir ? I asked 0.25 first, but he asked me that how long has this noise been there ? I said it's been there from day 1 but noise has slightly reduced compared to how it was, when I got the bike.He said that he recommends 0.5mm as to get the bore with more perfection compared to 0.25mm since the bike has been ridden in this condition for many KMs.

He quoted â‚ı1000 for the work but didn't tell anything about Port Chamfering or Honing.I think both are very much necessary otherwise the engine will not last as piston rings will hit the sharp edges of the ports and inner walls of cylinder won't have the good capability of holding oil to lubricate the piston for efficient movement.

He also told me that after rebore,I can expect improvements in performance and efficiency as compression will get back to optimal and bike will feel peppier and will run more efficient as proper combustion happens.

        Thanks sir [emoji120]

Yes,I'm also not doing fine,Health wise,so it's a little difficult right now,to work on the bike.

Factory restoration : I'd recommend getting to MadMonkey Automotives. It's in Porur. They do some pretty amazing job.I got Clutchplates and Decarb done by them.I will P.M their number to you.You can refer my name,Bharath,to them. They know me as the Max 100R owner.

          1) Engine/Gearbox : Full rebuild will cost you from 5K-8K I think.

          2) Painting : It involves Engine Head,Bore,LH Covers and other miscellaneous items too.Total Painting will cost you under 10K.

          3) Electrical Work : If your coils,Magnets,CDi and RR Unit are intact,It won't cost you over 2K.All you need is Wiring kit,New battery. But if you are changing the entire thing,It will cost close to 7K.

thanx for the info. I'll checkout MadMonkey Auto...I'll let u know during the restoration....

            1. Do u meant the change the bore as well?

            2. Yes and the chassis had to be painted also....still possible under 10K right?

            3. I already bought the Minda Wiring Kit for MAX100R abt 2.5yrs back...I think it should suffice....

I'm thinking whether its possible to have :

            1. Direct Lighting for the Headlight
            2. Highway Indicator Flasher ( All 4 Indicators Flash repeatedly )

              Yes sure,Thanks!

              1) Well,Changing the bore will cost more, but it depends. If your current bore is at 0.5mm or more,Change it.You can check current bore's condition. If it's in STD and if bore has a lot of scratches,You can go for 0.5mm.Make sure that you do Port Chamfering and Honing. The clearance of Piston and inner sidewall should be 30 microns.

              2) Yes,Included under 10K.Make sure the rust is removed and frame is sanded well before new paint. Also invest in anti-rust coating.

              3) Yes,It should suffice.

              Possibilities :

              1) Yes,But too expensive. You also need to modify the battery mounting to accomodate a much bigger battery. Also the RR Unit should be upgraded. The setup will cost you close to 8K.Honestly,it's not worth it.Keep it stock and you will appreciate how reliable the setup is.Just check your lighting coil.If it's weak,Change it.Don't rewind it.Rewinding is a duct tape fix and it will get weak again.

              2) I also had this idea at first, but I really don't want to mess with this otherwise simple but ancient electrical system of this bike so maximum I've installed is an indicator buzzer. You can go with it,but make sure that the model supports indicators with traditional bulbs. Also it's most likely not going to be a neat plug&play solution,it's a little more complicated as it includes cutting of wires. Not sure how they will be useful practically. It will be useful for visibility on the highways, but this bike isn't really meant for long distance highway runs, and city, you are always going to be seen as far as your tailamps, headlamp and horn works.

                1. Kick Starter Assy - TVS OE - Rs. 365/- ( Current Kicker comes off whenever u kick so bought this as an extra backup spare, I will be using some aftermarket kick starter assy though )

                2. Aftermarket handle grip for Suzuki ( LH and RH ) - Rs. 50/-

                3. Speedometer casing for MAX100R - TVS OE ( Bought this back in 2015 itself, yesterday I took it here )

                  Awesome!

                  1) Use the original itself.I made the mistake of using aftermarket ones.It was fouling with the exhaust guard.Wasted some 400 bucks. You can get a Victor kicker if you can't find Max kicker

                  2) Nice! I'm using stock, but wrapped with TripMachine Leather.

                  3) That's nice! I thought mine was broken, but disassembling, cleaning and putting it back together fixed all the rattling.

                    2. I'm trying to find TVS OE handle grips but still no luck

                    3. I will post a picture of the casing...plz wait....mine is broken....I have to do the same and check.

we have bought my MAX100R back in 2010, its a 2002 model, initially after purchase I had premixed 2T oil with petrol as the oil pump is not working. then we had replaced the faulty oil pump with OE pricol pump. since then to this day I haven't mixed oil with petrol, cauz my oil pump is working fine and the oil warning light also, with time as the condition of the bike is deteriorating due to lack of proper maintenance, the oil light is not working anymore. but the pump is going good, when the 2T oil has completely ran dry I would notice it while riding as it shuts down completely and also hear more noise from the engine as if it were run without any lubrication. once I fill the oil, it would go back to smooth mode again, currently I'm running Shell Advance VSX 2T. and have used Castrol, Servo, MAK etc. I find shell to be the most optimum oil.

Is it necessary to use 2T oil when the oil pump is working?

I was going through another thread on this forum and came across this post that says '20ml with Oil Pump' thats why I'm just clarifying.

I also saw in page 9 u have installed the shogun muffler....superb, and read that u have procured it from bangalore, is there any possibility that its available in pudhupet?. I have enquired Kaveri Auto Parts on facebook they said shogun muffler/silencer is currently not available but can be procured.

Nice! I do both premix and use the pump too,I think it's necessary because we never know when that pump is going to fail,so that premix will help the parts to avoid complete failure even when the pump stops working or like in your case, when the oil level indicator stopped working and the tank went dry.

I have faced the same issue of the oil indicator failing. So when I changed my old oil tank,I kept it with me safely,so it had a working oil level indicator,so I used it on my new tank.

Premixing has its advantages.I premix about 20-25ml oil for every litre of petrol. It will prevent tank rusting and will also slowdown the rusting it tank has already started to rust so it will prevent pinholes,leaks.etc.Also if your oil pump suddenly stops working,The engine can still run at a slower-than-normal speed safely as there is enough oil in the fuel to keep it running and avoid getting siezed.

I'm also running Shell 2T.I find this and Motul to be fantastic for the bike.Shell is getting hard to find these days.

The engine shutting down and giving more noise is exactly what happens when there is lack of lubrication and too much heat. Please DO NOT ride in this condition as it will cause seizure and you have to rebuild the engine from bottom end which isn't cheap by any means.

I don't know,I think that muffler will be available in Pudupet. Not sure.I got mine from Adarsh M.V.I think Seana has this in stock.Do ask them.If you have cops around,Do get Glasswool from them and install it to reduce the sound too.

Irrespective of premix, I always prefer to have a working Oil Pump. I use Mak on my Shogun (premix and oil pump both). Works best for me. And I use 20ml/per litre.

Ofcourse.I also prefer to have that oil pump working because the engineers designed the engine to have that oil pump working and not to completely rely on premix.I might use MAK,little difficult to source here.

As stated earlier,I'm also using premix to get rid of rust growth in tank and also save the engine seizure if the oil pump fails all of a sudden.

20-25ml oil for every litre of petrol is great!

As stated earlier,I'm also using premix to get rid of rust growth in tank and also save the engine seizure if the oil pump fails all of a sudden.

20-25ml oil for every litre of petrol is great!
Mak is available widely in all Bharat Petroleum outlets. It's the most common 2T available here.

All BP outlets stock MAK 2T and all IOC outlets stock Servo 2T, these are my last options if I can't find Shell Advance VSX 2T.
