The thing which I see in playing with the engine is...either you get a very good mechanic who can do it all right or you be ready to start investing every now and then.

Like my mechanic says that one shoud never modify engines to another engine unless its done for some purpose like drags, circuit race, raids. But if you will be just using the bike for your commuting purpose then IMO keep the engine also stock brother it would be better.
    Thanks brother .
Rightly said shivanshu . Will keep it stock i think .

it seems there are taiwan,SE asian bores available in the aftermarket shops. but those bores had diffrent carbs, port set ups and timing , sproket ratios etc..by fixing those you may end up in trouble.so stay away from them

instead if you can get your existing 4 speed reboring and porting done up by some like Ron chinnoy in Bengaloru (visit rddreams.com) you will have a more exiting machine i think

    a proper conversion need :

    5 Speed cylinder(4TL10) cylinder head (09L),piston,rings etc..
    shift cam assy
    main axle complete
    drive axle
    ovel carb of 5 speed
    chain sprocket kit 5S
if the bike is a RXG then, stator plate and magnet also need change

no need to touch the clutch

instead of spending so much better to port 4 speed cylinder and have more fun

never leave the bike with mechanics over night.start a work only if it can be completed before he close for the day.
    Thanks satishg

now thats new to me . Are you talking about the RXK barrel or really actually cheap replicas of 5 speed bore kit are available . WTF , life is getting difficult everyday . I think even if its 4 th oversize , I ll keep it stock coz the mech has become too arrogant now , And doesnt know a bit about conversion . I got an original bore so even the 4th over will last some atleast 10 k kms with good oil . Then jo hoga dekha jayega .

Yet to settle terms with the mech , dont know whats going on . Totally Fuc#@d up .

Anyways do you have any idea how to check if the bore is original Indian bore ? except that no , 4TL10.

Porting also does not make sense coz this is the last oversize , anyways it will be fun to ride ... but that is a distant dream at the moment .
Hope is a good thing ,
may be the best of things and
no good thing ever dies .

You should get a stock 4 speed bore quite easilly at a Yamaha dealer. I'd suggest that you discard your 4th oversize bore and fit the new kit . Then you re set.

I find it hard to believe that you cant get a new stock RX 135 bore in all of Mumbai really.

I found dealers where I can get them. All are saying one thing . Pay full amount in advance and they will take max a week to source them . One guy told they get it from a stockist or some company . Now again after paying that much money I am not sure whether I will get a genuine bore kit or not . Also full advance means I have to be good to them and bare with whatever time they take.
May say 1 week and take 4 .

And the most amazing thing as satishg told in your thread . Prices are increasing day by day , I guess it would be minute by minute.
I actually do not find it worth spending so much or may be its not in capacity to spend so much . Heck there are very less bikes out there whose bore kit is costlier than these things .

Hope I can forget that I have a bike for some moments , I ll have some peace .

Brother.... one thing I wanna say before anything else...there is no other bike which can replace RX...and once you are addicted to it...u wont get the feel on any other bike

so first of all, I think you are getting quite worked up. so chill and relax a bit. Secondly, I think you dont have a good mechanic out there... so find a new one who is good, knowledgable and knows his work and who listens to the customer even if it means getting the work done at the service center, though that would mean spending a bit more.

Now about the full payment option brother and waiting for 2-3 weeks for the bore kit its natural. Just be nice to them and say that you will pay half the price now and then half when the kit arrives.

And dont loose patience, coz when your bike is ready the peace the feel you get in riding her is something which will ease all your pain and make you proud of your efforts... if you need any help from Delhi then let me know. Just be a bit calm....RX breed needs lot of attention and caring like a new gf..you need to pamper her a lot.... she can eat your head but at the end of day she is the one which would give you the satisfaction of having her beside you.... just go step by step...make a list, priorities your things and then work on it..... everything cannot happen at one go so chil relax and be patient..... and we all are there for you and when she starts roaring then man you can just zoom away to glory

Save the Earth - We are the one who are running out of time, as Earth will take it own time to heal but that time may not be enough for us.

Yup. It will run just fine. You could even get a 100's head slightly modded for more compression and use that. I had this setup on my 4sp Z converted to a 5sp with a gbox and ch-sp kit from the 5sp but running a modified 100head,and stock 4sp carb. You wouldn't know the difference.

it is not impossible to get the parts of 5 speed.if you look around you may find it. there will be individuals and dealers sitting on it.they decide on the price depending on demand.

4TL00,4TL01,4TL10 are all indian cylinders.4Y1,4Y2 are the cheap SE asian stuff.some of them comes painted in aluminium or black paint.

4 speed cylinders are still easily available with most dealers. you can modify the squish (as sandeep said) of a 4 speed head an use on 5 speed.sent to an expert like Ron in Bangalore who know what they are doing

i am still waiting (30 th days )for a rx135 stator plate which my dealer promissed me to get from Faridabad 10 days after paying advance of Rs 500/-.

I think you will find everything you wish to complete your project

                                good luck
