RX100 bore kits are in shortage and is rationed among the dealers. It is NOT available as over the counter product. You can only get it replaced in A.S.C. It costs Rs.5995 (recently revised upwards).

This is the official line on 100 & 135 bore kits and I thought it might be of some use to the enthusiasts here.
I checked at Perfect Riders (Lalbagh Rd) and they said they have no stock of the bores. But a couple of spare part shops on JC RD siad they have stocks but it's Rs 6k for a RX100 bore. And no one had RX135 Bores This is the status in Bangalore.

Thats what i was gonna tell . You know man I dont about these bores specifically but there are some products ( not only bike related ) or so called Chinese or some down market products who do their job very well .... not upto the quality mark but absolute value for money and do their job ( seen them being used ) . Agree that OE are made according to bike specifications keeping all scientific aspect in mind like loads , this that etc but out of 10 fake companies that make em ... there is competition between them also and atleast one company will make something decent enough . Only way to find out would be to use I guess .
Thats what i think ... dont know what would be the case with bores .
Dude Outworldly maniac, I have a serious sugestion please do a bit of reading and figure out your basics.

" You know man I dont about these bores specifically but there are some products ( not only bike related ) or so called Chinese or some down market products who do their job very well .... not upto the quality mark but absolute value for money "

This statement made me absoulutely jump. Bike parts are bike parts and no spurious part manufactures dont have competition between them to make a better quality spurious part. Gosh!

And do you realise what happenes inside a bore when your bike runs. Its basically a controlled explosion man. Explosion like BOOM firecracker bomb type. And every damn beat you hear on your bike is an explosion and at to this there is this metal piston that goes up and down due to the pressure of the explosion. Now imagine this happening on a bore (vessel) that is not calibrated precise enough to take this kind of pounding.

Here's some suggested reading for you:
Two-stroke engine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Piston - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

                  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cylinder_(engine)
(After you read this particular artcle imagine using a cheap chinese "value for money" alternative)

I hope you read the above articles and are lil more clearer in your mind about the workings of an automobile engine.

                  Peace

And mostly there will be something basic which one would not know until he is an overall expert or has worked . Anyways apologize it you felt bad but that was not my intention. Still a long way to learn for me .

Thats what he said. It will NOT be sold OTC. You can leave your bike at their service center and get the bore replaced (100 only).

I wanted to ask him how does one identify an orignal bore, but it would have been an irrelevant question once he said what he said. Besides he didnt sound too eager to carry on with the conversation :-(

Called up MCC last evening. Reply from the other end of the telephone line: "Do not ask for two stroke spares"

                              Hi friends ,
Got the engine started . Man its just beautiful to ride this thing .
You were right nothing can ever replace this bike . During this rebuild process I found out that cone and all were also gone . Now everything is new and handles like a charm , felt like riding a cycle .
The pick up and mid range are just , may be due 3rd over .
I am just imagining what must be a ported bike like .
The chassis and cosmetics are done .

But it has not got the final touch .
Still some issues . Some engine issues .

                              1. There is some kinda noise in the bore .
Previously also I have couple of noises. One was due to the con rod which has been sorted out . The other was probably due to some unknown reason,
one of my friends told it was due to piston rings gone .
So now I have put OE piston rings yet there is noise .

                              2. Engine heats up .
Now I simply dont know whether actually heating up is a normal thing or a problem with my bike only . Like if I touch the head area after only some 500 mts ride the head is already heated up and if u touch the fins , it feels like the engine is immensely hot .
After something over 2 kms I feel I am riding an SBK . I can literally feel the heat between my legs .
Now the problem is definitely not with the bottom end .
Will get my bore rechecked for clearences like Prajeep anna pointed out .
But after that it heats up , I ll faint .
Guys is it normal for such heating .
One mech told me , " Saar itna to heat hota hi hian , nahi to gadi chalao hi mat toh ekdam thanda rahega " ....

Ok the only thing pending is de-carboning the exhaust . That may also be the reason for over heating .

One thing I would like to ask your opinion about ,
Should I use the oil pump. Mine is working fine . Currently put castrol 20w50 as engine oil and castrol 2t as oil , put in the pump box .
                              Just during running in .
                              After that will see .

Please give me ur valuable advice and suggestions .

                              Thanks
Hope is a good thing ,
may be the best of things and
no good thing ever dies .

Get busy living or get busy dying .
