No yar ... ask pyscho98 . I have spent much more than needed to get the engine running ... much more and not only spending . Always put good petrol and oil . Sacrificed my most precious thing... time .
What else can i possibly do ? . Find a good mech ... may be thats something which is missing ... dont know will ever find or not

Yup. It will run just fine. You could even get a 100's head slightly modded for more compression and use that. I had this setup on my 4sp Z converted to a 5sp with a gbox and ch-sp kit from the 5sp but running a modified 100head,and stock 4sp carb. You wouldn't know the difference.
Thanks sandeep for the inputs . I never knew this .
I thought the secret lies in the 5 speed port design .

Thanks arvind , shivanshu , satishg and sandeep .

      @ shivanshu and friends .

Was depressed and hence such words in a haste . I love RX and I know nothing can replace it now , and as said have gone outta my way to get things done . I guess this is what people say " learning the hard way "
Chalo will try some more and see what can be dealt with .

      @ satishg

Hmm good idea will try and see what can be done . You and Sandeep gave some really good tips .

So a 5 speed head done on a 4 spd bore . With ch-sp kit should do the job, rite ?

On the basis of preference (highest first) :

        1. Best idea is to get all the 5s parts : HEAD(100% sure you wont get it ) ; Bore-piston kit(I am sure you can get it after paying some premium) ; carb (4TL420 IIRC - can get a used one in good condition from somebody) ; Chain Sprocket kit (15/38 IIRC, still available); Gearbox (atul_astro/Psycho98). This is the complete mod which will set you back by more than 10K I am sure - the biggest expenditure will be the Bore-Piston kit.

        2. Keep the 4sp head or get a 100's head and mod it. Keep the 4sp carb. Buy all the other parts - including 5speed bore piston kit. This will be pretty close to a real 5speed and you pretty much can't make out the difference. Cost-wise its cheaper than option 1.

        3. If you are very keen on getting a 5sp setup, and if parts and budget are an issue, - keep the bore as it is. Retain the carb and the head (get the head modded for more compression). Just buy the gearbox and the Chain Sprocket kit. That will do but the performance will be nowhere like a real 5 speed unless you get the engine ported a wee bit (as per your liking). Cost wise, this is least expensive. Also invovles least work and if done properly, it will make your bike near identical to a 5speed.

Hope something works out for you.

BTW- I am considering updating my bone stock 4speeder to a 5speeder and I will be following option 3.

@Psycho : You know I need the gearbox now And what about porting mate ?

PS : And what about logos ? Any progress ?

Sandeep you aint kidding rite you and porting !!! what happen all of the sudden ?

Logos will be completed today, will hand it over to you tommorow you it get it lacquered.

EDIT : Just read ur post now not a bad idea, my suggestion is ditch that shakeela ( catylic silencer) on and put trisha ( the legend chrome silencer) back.

              Thanks Sandeep once again .

              @ all friends

Well now am planning to restore to stock 4 speed whatever oversize and run till whatever time it runs . Then I will see if I wanna move on with new tech or stay with 2 strokes ... well at the moment love only 2 strokes but then who knows what happens tomorrow . And If I want to remain with em will try and collect money for a good build .... Only 3 bhp difference between 4sp and 5sp .... err ... I mean why not later try and get ported according to my requirements and enjoy .
What do you all say on my decision ? .
As always ur views needed .

And one very Important Query .
How to find out whether the rear shocks are original or not .
I got a pair but I am really in doubt .
I got them in khakhi or cardboard brown kinda color pack.
Bloody thing has yamaha genuine accessories written on it .
They dont have the gabriel escorts sticker on them .
They have escorts written on them in metallic... kinda embeded .. hope u understand .
and cost much more less than what I read on the pack ,,, which makes me doubt a lot more .

Thanks and please reply ... You all are the only hope and help I got .

What??! Well all my 5 years of customer service is gonna come into play trying to answer this. Here goes...

                  1. Fuel tap .

Ans: Also known as fuel cock is the knob that you turn to turn the petrol off, Mains or Reserve. This is Attached to the tank.

                  2. Fuel filter .

Ans: A pipe runs from the Fuel Tap into the Fuel filter that filters the petrol for suspended solid impurites like dust from entering the carb and causing blockages. So you need to have the filter in between the carb and the fuel tap.

Which fuel filter should be used on our RX
                    Any brand or company
or Yamaha does provide fuel filter... hope they are same for all carbs.

Relax it's not that critical a part. It s not like indian petrol has maggots in it. If you really want one get it at your nearest Yamaha SVC. They'll only fit it for you.

Hope the rebore is done properly with exact rings clearances !! with zero clearance the engine will be running but without any soup in it, low on compression = low on power.

If the rebore goes wrong i am sure you will say two strokes suck which has happened with many of us here.

Find a rebore specialist first !!! else buy a new bore ..

                                OT

I just spoke to Mr. K.L.M Rao, Area Service Manager, Yamaha India. He said, RX 135 bore kits are unavailable. Whats worse is that it is NOT going to be available anytime in future He has about 10,000 'pending orders' for 135 kit and he is tired of saying sorry he claimed.

RX100 bore kits are in shortage and is rationed among the dealers. It is NOT available as over the counter product. You can only get it replaced in A.S.C. It costs Rs.5995 (recently revised upwards).

This is the official line on 100 & 135 bore kits and I thought it might be of some use to the enthusiasts here.

@outwardly maniac: I am extremly sorry to have posted this in your thread as I didnt want to start a new thread for this.
