Ohh.. thought so but as don't know the technical spec so was thinking tat it would go well with standard pistons

    Thanks for that info

Replacing only cylinder will not do the job, you will have to play around with many things. Too long to discuss it here on a spare parts thread. Please take up this issue in http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/thumpers...ian-bikes.html thread.

Getting a chasis for RX100 or RX135 should not be an issue at all.

Your RX looks smoking hot, why revert to stock setup?

I would suggest you retain this bike as it is & build another right from scratch.

And as sriram pointed out, please take up this issue on a new thread or at http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/thumpers...ian-bikes.html.

Regarding spares let me know if i can be of any help.
Beg to differ, the RX-K block is a direct fit on a RX135. You can fit it directly. I have it running on two bikes ( one of which is mine ).

When did i say its not a direct fit???? Please go through my post again.

Everybody knows its a direct fit, but fitting 4Y2 cylinder alone will not pump out 18 horses !!!!!!!....... You need to modify the head, carb, ignition, gearbox, sproketing etc to actually perorm like a "King". And finally i am strictly talking about 4Y2 kit & not 3KA series which is only 14BHP.

          Hope its clear now.

Oh yes, don't forget the 4Y2 connecting rod assembly & the original set of 4Y201 "ART" pistons.

You are right, i forgot the exhaust. The Gearbox is different, its a close ratio 5-speed GB.

I've never liked dirt bikes and an ultra conservative when it comes to looks. But this one is Are there more pics of this bike? There is an ownership section for two-strokers. Perhaps you can post some pics there. Especially side profile.

Why do you want to go back to stock?

+1. Get a junk RX and re-build it. w.r.t chassis, enquire in Yamaha Factory Shop (in Mumbai or Delhi). Else place an order with the dealer. It will come but will take time. Its not as bad as Cylinder kit availablity

                    • @Kiosk, Like many suggested, you should actually retain this 'DT' of yours and build another RX altogether. Rebuilding the current one will prove expensive and you'll have to replace too many parts incl. the cosmetics.

Btw, you can have piston oversizes till 8th over.so you have atleast 7 more rebores left.

Easily, No problem in that. There isn't difference in G1,G2,G3,G4 series blocks. All same I guess.

So liner thickness has no role to play in reliability?

                            • some liners do support 8th OS.. The thicker liner does help reduce vibration

                              • Can any one post a closeup picture of factory fitted RXZ disc brake setup like front fork legs including make if any, rotor make, caliper, master cylinder and brake lever

last weak i went to chennai. i just went to bike yard(pudupet) where we can almost source many old parts. i enquired to diffrent shops about RXZ disk setup but sadly no one agreed that RXZ came with factory fitted disk brake. they all around 20+years on exp in spare parts dealings but no one knew that RX came with disk brake. all reffering to gladiator disk setup.

is that gladiator fork leg and RXZ fork leg are same.

                                Will someone please enlighten me
