    3. Very less chances of siezure on long rides, provided 2-T oil is flowing adequately.
My Green 5-speeder starts in first kick even after not using for months together, all thanks to the immaculate jetting & the VM26.

    For the second part:
    1. Coil rewinding will only improve lighting. Depends on the number of coils wound, it could be enough to power a 55W or 65W or 90/100W or 110W bulb.
    2. When using a 90/100 ignition, if the bike is in idling & you switch on the headlight, there is huge inrush of current (Inductive loading) & the engine is unable to take such a load, i.e the spark is no longer enough to continue the firing & hence engine shuts off. Halogen bulbs are nothing but inductive loads & hence the stress on the generator. But if the generator capacity is big enough (VA rating), then such a loading will not matter much on the performance.
    3. There will be no adverse effect on engine performace until the timing is played around with. Timing has a major role in overall performance.
On both my 5-speeders i am using custom built Ignition System, on Green 5-Speeder it was a sucess, but on the black the timing was not set right & hence it hampered the performance. We are working on a fresh design now.

@ Ram, forget gap setting, use OE NGK Iridiums IX.

A heavier rating coil will increase the inductive drag on the engine. So ideally if load is being drawn from it ( Like switching the headlight on at night ), will increase the load on the crank slightly ( marginal ).

Thanks a lot dear friends for your reply..

So what do you people recommend? whether I should change the light setup?
    The choices are...

    1) Keeping current stock setup
    2)Changing to 55/60 light setup
    3)Changing to 90/100 light setup
4)Winding and everything for 90/100 setup and using 55/60 bulb (Don't know if there is any issues or not, please post them if any)

Ram, this is what I have seen in my bikes owners manual dated Aug 1986.

Ofc, the 8200 one is the best i have seen.[other than the original Yamaha one] .
          Bro,
How does a compatible 3KA bore differ from an original one? Will the performance differ or is it just because of the genuine components?

It basically looks the same. The quality of the material is different.. the liner, alloy .. most of the times the ports dont match on the duplicate ones.. they are not at all chamfered. Only on a high quality block is everything in order and ofc. it comes at a price. Dont be tempted by cheap ones.
