    • A post after a very long time, I hope all you stroker friends are flourishing. Just read this, which I wanted to share with you chaps.

Top Gear magazine's Richard Hammond agrees with us about the pleasure and scare-yourself-silly nature of two stroke motorcycles, on a Kawasaki KR-1S, a race replica 250cc Parallel Twin monstrosity which is a straight escapee from the Arkham Asylum. For your reading pleasure:

Technology wise Japanese were much ahead than us in the mid 70s itself. We are yet to catch them up.
In western countires the air cooled RDs were banned in mid 70s itself due to stricter emission norms and few other reasons but, unfortunately in India these are the best machines which are available till date, performance wise and built wise. Only recently bigger four strokes started rolling out claiming themselves to be an innovation of modern technology.

        • Got few spare today to for the bike.
Just wanted to highlight a few things. I got the clamp, the petrol filter clamp(Part No. 2YA-F4568-00), though it looks original i doubt that it is, its just 20/- and has a packing date of 2010. The quality is good but still i have a doubt.Doesn't matter am Glad that i got this one.

Secondly, the DC packing kit (Part no. 1L1660100)that i got again didn't feel original.
My doubt was on the copper gasket that comes in the DC kit, it is all black on one side and we can notice the copper on the other side. The spares guy told that its cause of heat treatment(which is bull). Another thing was that the packing was of 2006 and doesn't have the usual Faridabad, Haryana address but N.Delhi address.(Clear my doubt please).

Other parts included the clutch plates, the fork oil seals and race bearing kit.

          • Part no. is spot on Asif. But I doubt the authenticity of the gasket. Even I bought one from Bangalore Wheels couple of years back and it looks like the same as yours. Masi is getting onto my hands. I hadn't noticed at all.

On second thoughts, even with Woriginal stuff how good is the quality anyways. Apart from the crankshaft assembly, I was not satisfied with a single spare during my recent 135 re-build.

Yes you are right. and apart form the crankshaft, for RX135 what i like is the ART piston kits, O.E clutch plates , carb manifold and of course the 4TL kicker. its clicking action cannot be imitated on any fake kick lever. Its just too good.

              • There was another guy who bought the complete packing kit and in that the copper gasket was as its supposed to be. The shop owner simply told thats for a 135.
I guess if i would have bought the complete packing kit for the 100, i would have got better copper gasket.

P.S: Forgot to mention incase anyone looking for the petrol filter clamp for the 100, the guys got a few with him.

                    • If its for 135 forget cylinder kit. 100's cylinder kits are available at YASS. Clutch plates for either are the same and freely available. Crankshaft both (135&100), I am not sure. You might have to place an order perhaps but I don't think its as bad as cylinder kits.

I assume you want the above spares for RX100. They should be available at YASS, if not place the order, should come through.

                        OE RX100 - 8200/-
                        OE RX100 Crankshaft 3700/-(approx) - revised rate.
OE Clutch plates - 129/- per plate

If you are from N. Delhi, Address: Gf-2 & gf-4, mgf metropolitan mall, saket, New Delhi. Not sure if they are still around. Also you can try Carlton Motors for the spares if you have not tried already.

                        Hope it helps!

Thanks Sri, yes they are for RX100 sorry forgot to mention that, well I have tried some of the YASS but they say that you can place the order but they dont know when will it come to them. And yeah the MGF Metropolitan Mall has already moved out. I would prefer Delhi Scooters rather than Carlton Motors. Lets see will talk to them in detail.

Thanks Nitin. I am plannign to restore my bike this year as it is she will be celebrating her Silver Jubilee i.e. finishing her 25yrs

The part no as i have started taking notice of are the same as original. The parts that are being sold, can't comment on most stuff but the regular consumables - the cables, packing kit, etc. many not be original but do the job. The parts like mani-fold rubber, silencer gasket, air-filter etc. where quality is the key are simply rubbish and don't last till your next service.

Thanks for the information sir, the minute i picked it up i knew it was a fake, but have to keep the bike running so there was no other option.
Maybe if you are able to break down the part coding for everyone it would be helpful.Atleast we would avoid buying the major parts which could be fake.

I hav been running my RX135 on a Used second hand Catcon silencer past 3 months, few days before I opened the back to clean it as the firing was too lean and what I found is in the attached pictures, I was mixing double the 2T oil as I recently changed the piston, Is there any way to clean it without cutting and welding, all the local mechanic here are telling me the same thing.

                                will appreciate your help
