Anyone kindly tell me just how much of a performance difference is between the Suzuki MAX100R and the following 2 bikes:-
1. Yamaha RX100
2. Hero Honda Splendor
the RX100 is a performance-oriented 2-stroke and the Splendor is a very fuel efficient 4-Stroke. Ultimately, both were very reliable & successful models which sold in many numbers. But the MAX100R is neither as performance-oriented as the RX100 and nor as fuel-efficient as the Splendor. Considering its high sales, I'm just curious to know where the MAX100R fits in the scheme of things and in the mind of the general public?.Last edited by prasath_xbhp; 10-25-2011, 06:06 PM.My Motorcycles :-
IND Suzuki AX100 ( 1984 )
TVS Suzuki Fiero ( 2000 )
TVS Suzuki MAX100R ( 2002 )
Hero Splendor Plus i3S ( 2018 )

The Suzuki Max100 (Derived from the Suzuki Samurai which in turn was derived from the IND/TVS-Suzuki) was aimed at the cost conscious fuel economy concerned commuter who wanted a hassle free bike.
The Max 100 generated 7.8 bhp (Splendor 7.5 bhp / RX100 11 bhp)
The Max 100 was a good blend of performance and fuel economy ... the bike fared well in South India and Gujarat ... not so much in Mumbai and Maharashtra ..
So to answer your question ..
- Low Initial purchase cost
- Low Maintainance
- Rigid Double Cradle frame
- Decent Fuel Economy (50 - 55 kpl was attained by my cousin)
Remeber, 2T Oil was cheap those days!!!02 Qualis GS
03 Zen Carbon
62 Jawa 353 "Tank Switch"
83 RD350 HT
87 Yezdi 350 Twin
99 Yamaha YBX
03 RXZ 5-speed
08 Suzuki Access
None Sold!!! All in the Stable

Hi Big biker bros. I have posted an introduction about myself but, it isn't visible so I assume its yet to be approved.. As my rank says I am a newbie here at xbhp but not so new when it comes to the world of biking ! Done self-styled modifications to my Yamaha Rx135 (4 speed 1996 model) I am having a problem my former mechanic (who was an assho*e) screwed up my machine completely it was then i took the situation in my own hand I single handedly done everything to put my beloved bike together and result is satisfactory but there r some problems that I couldnt attend at that time due to shortcomming of finances and time
1) The grr grr sound of my connecting rod
2) Oil pump leakage
3) The annoying Gear slippage of 1st gear and the 3rd gear
Please guide me through it experts its my kind request Thank you Ride safe andResponsibly

First I would like you to change the way you write. Avoid SMS lingos, abusive words and short forms. We all aware there are many moron mech than good out there.
With regards to your problem, first let me know how did you determine that the noise arise out of connecting rod. Or am I missing some details as how you determined?
Oil pump leakage :- Did you check if the oil seal is bursted? The oil seal and gasket worn out are possible problem area to oil leakage. Also check if the oil leak is from the bleed nut.
Gear shift noise:- There are lot of parameters contributing to shift issue reported. You'll need to determine if the clutch is adjusted properly i.e 3-5mm ply, if that is taken care;
2. Fork dogs/Fork shifts inside might not be in position to engage the shifts.
3. If the gear teeths are worn out might also contribute to this issue, so replace if there are not in good condition.
I assume that you are using recommended gearbox oil and the oil level is maintained per company specifics.
Seniors, please add if I had missed any.RX100 1996 | Karizma 2004 | Karizma-R 2011 | RXZ 1999 | RX 135 1998 | RX 100 1993 | CBF150 2005 - 2011

bro I do not use sms lingoes at all you see I am not an sms crazy person apart from that, the abusive words I used here I Am EXTREMELY SORRY for that I shouldnt have expressed my personal view here publicly but, u can understand my psycological condition He litrally DAMAGED and Destroyed my bike completely i am sorry I wont justify my mistake
back to the point . . . well bro I pointed out that the noise is from the connecting rod coz when i listen carefully I can makeout the source of noise and where from is it originating
The oil pump issue will be resolved I will be getting a new one I was unable to find the gasket thats leaking
but the problem Gear slippage is of my major concern clutch is set perfectly fine as per the workshop manual the Gears.. None of them are worn fork dogs r new I Think the problem is with the shifter my previous mechanic trespassed with it he grinded it on the notch where ball n SPRING FITS dont know that part's name will update and I am sorry if i unintentionally hurt u by any word

I'm not sure if you realize that you are using short forms knowingly or unknowingly. However, I've bold those. This is not accepted if you had gone through the forum rules.
With regards to your problem, Only an experienced and well knowledgable head would be able to pin point the problem areas by listening to the noise. If you say so, then considered yourself as an EXPERT.
Having said that, unless it is experienced it is hard for me to suggest as whether there is an issue with shift cam or shift pedal assembly.
May be Seniors could share their thoughts here.RX100 1996 | Karizma 2004 | Karizma-R 2011 | RXZ 1999 | RX 135 1998 | RX 100 1993 | CBF150 2005 - 2011

Answers above in Bold & Beautiful. Also where are you from?Originally posted by Pricelessheart View Post
1) The grr grr sound of my connecting rod........How do you know for sure that the sound is from con-rod? Are you sure the sound is not the piston slapping or from the clutch bell. What size are you running? You need to give more & more details.
2) Oil pump leakage.......... Best option is to replace the oil-pump or opt for direct mix. Your call.
3) The annoying Gear slippage of 1st gear and the 3rd gear........ Before you open up the GB take a look at the clutch Bell assembly, clutch plates. If these resolve your problem, then stay away from fiddling with GB. RX GB's are one of the best you have in market, they dont get screwed so easily.

Okay... Sriram I hope addressing someone as brother isnt against the rules and litrally isnt a shortform ! And r and n that I used is because I am typing all these with a nokia phone (I am Not using any personal micro computer or any handheld device with Qwerty keypad) so sometime when fingers pain alot unintentionally I opt for a shortform but thats rare... Seniors like u should ignore such small nooks especially when I have apologised for the same... Sorry again as a token of my humility...

Q. How do you know for sure that the sound is from con-rod?
A -> Because I while refitting my engine there was play in connecting rod's bearing (crank side)
Q. Are you sure the sound is not the piston slapping or from the clutch bell ?
A -> No, its not the piston slapping against the head, clutch bell was throughly checked and installed new clutch plates.
Q. What size are you running? (I assume its bore you are talking about)
A -> I am not sure about it previous owner said it is 2nd time rebored ( is there any way to know that actually how many times is it rebored ?)
Q. You need to give more & more details.
A -> Please ask as I dont know what kind of details am I required to provide.
Oil pump leakage .......... Best option is to replace the oil-pump or opt for direct mix. Your call.
A -> I am replacing the oil pump (Pricol)
Before you open up the GB take a look at the clutch Bell assembly, clutch plates.
A -> Refer Answer number 2
Q. If these resolve your problem, then stay away from fiddling with GB.
A -> I am not fiddling the problem persists so I am desperate to get it solved..
Q. RX GB's are one of the best you have in market, they dont get screwed so easily.
A -> I agree that RX has got a good GB's but mine has got problem because that foolish mechanic screwed it all up purposely...
Answers above in Bold & Beautiful.
Howsthat !
Q. Also where are you from?
A -> From India, a very small village in Maharashtra(pm me if u want me to be more elaborative)

of course! If it has really been rebored 2 times then there should .50mm written, written as in inscribed, on the piston crown, .75 means it has been rebored 3 times and .25 means it has been rebored once.Originally posted by Pricelessheart View Post( is there any way to know that actually how many times is it rebored ?)RIP ਕਾਕਾ ਭੈਣੀਆਂਵਾਲਾ (Santokh Singh Rataurh)
