i dont think so he said the dealer from which he bought if had some more ,he bought it from chennai yesterday and brought it home in three bags today , the guy is plain crazy about his bike doesnt spare any cost in keeping it ship shape, you might know him from rdd his name is Benny savio

yes i know him. Thats a smart move he made.. will keep his RD in good health for quite some time!

Issue with carb:- overflowing float bowl and smugged carb look

I replaced float needle (pin) after opening up the carb and float bowl. Looks like the issue was fixed. No leakage, no overflow, nice clean look. Now bike returns 44kmpl (last time when checked).

I might have screwed up the AFR. Pick up is slightly mellowed though there was no drastic change in the run. Yes, cold starting has cropped up - 4 kicks or I won't start. I'm scared if running lean would end up the barrel in showcase. It has just run 100 kms approx till now, my question is, should I wait for another 100kms before plug reading or go ahead and adjust the AFR? Mujae Bachao!

You are definitely running lean. and you dont have to wait for a single km. check the plug now or do a plug chop! Did you adjust the air screw?

welcome to the most precarious thing to sort out

your needle ckt is probably lean, take out the needle from the valve drop to the middle etc etc you probably know the routine I wouldn't wait another 100kms if I were you

@ Sri. another thing to check is a blocked pilot. I would open the carb and give it a good cleaning and then adjust the airscrew while its refitted on the engine.

Check for any airleak from the manifold side. The clamp on the manifold might be loose. Try this before you remove the carb.

Thank you Doc. Though I did not consciously notice any air leaks so far, will check again as advised.
