    • ^^ the only issue with the FZ is that though the forks look beefy and strong, they are extremely thin walled, and are not as strong as they appear to be.

      With 33 or 35 mm inner tubes on the RD, and im guessing 32mm or something on the bullet front forks, you can actually machine 4 bushes, and mount the same forks in the existing RD Steering Stem. ( i might be confused on the figures, but thats what we did some years back for an RD mod, However then we had used the 19 inch front hub, so 4 spoke holes had to be left blank. Also the axle and spacer would need modification.

He told me that the original engine displacement differs from whats written in handbook, it is written as 98 cc only because of some govt policies and rules/ some other reasons existed that time.

        Anyway I'm not sure about this(Engine displacement and BHP)...

        As SriramEfunds said and from my experience there is no doubt on the build quality of Japan RX-100 and spares sold during that time, My bike is perfect piece of example.

        In Flasher Lights (except one:-front right) and Brake Light of my bike it is written as 'Rajdoot India', in speedometer too('RAJDOOT'). I dont know upto which year they sold spares written 'Rajdoot India'. But the thing is that color got faded for the replaced flasher light(front right) and the 'Rajdoot India' lights still looks good not even faded 1%. So its clear what will be the total build quality of bike that time...

        its the same old bs man heard it a hundred times.....rx 100 was launched in india at a time when the staple diet of the indian biker consisted of mainly the heavy and rather slow for its time bullets , yezdis and rajdhoots , the rds had started to trickle down , people have no ides of things like reed valves or torque induction , they were pretty much stumped by the performance provided by a puny 100cc bike ,unable to believe that an engine with displacement less than a tumbler can beat bikes several times its capacity rumours started to pour out that the bike had more ccs than the advertised 100 ,thus started this age old rumour , also since you have the original 86 model you can verify it easily by removing the head and measuring the dimensions after sometime escorts decided to launch it on its own brand name leading to the birth of escorts rx100 , same bike different monograms , people were not convinced , sales dropped like a ton of bricks and escorts went back to the old yamaha monograms

                My Vote:
                * Pulsar 220 Front End
                Arvind, i had this opportunity to purchase a mint RD back in 2008, somehow i was more interested in getting my 135 done. Now that i am fully done with both my 135s, i was pestering my tuner to build me a drag pepped 135. We had lot of discussion regarding reliability, longevity etc of a race-built engine & ofcourse the rideability in city conditions.

                The next logical choice in India ofcourse was the 350. Had some discussions with my bro & we mutually agreed that we take a shot at this one.

                I am still a "L Board" as far as 350 is concerned. I will have to get used to the riding style for the next 6 months & then fully utilize the power band. There is no hurry & i will take things nice & easy. The spares are not an issue for me, the only thing is me getting used to the bike. I will start the 350 thread as & when i decide to modify it.

                Anyways congrats to you also for getting the beast.

                • 1) For the last two years oil pump of my RX100 is in a disconnected state.
                  And now when I told my mechanic to connect the oil pump he is saying like it wont work since it was disconnected for the last two years...

                  Friends, is there anything like that? If yes, Why is it so? Is it possible to re condition the oil pump?

                  2) Technically or quality wise is there any difference between the silencer of First RX100s and the silencers(spare) sold afterwards/RX100s of 90s?

                        To answer both your questions, the oil pump should never run dry ... ie if u do not use the oil pump, but leave it connected to the bike, it is running without oil ... that is the trouble ... if u disconnect the oil pump, get it off the bike, and u should be OK

                        2> The 1st lot RX100 silencers did have smaller diameters (outer) ..
                        the later ones had slightly larger outer dia ... now the problem is that Yamaha have superseded part numbers for 100 and 135, so there is only one type of silencer available for both the rx100 and rx135 ...
