My participation is only tentative coz of some family function brewing up. So it would be a better idea to take my name off the list till. As Akhil said earlier, in case i drop in at the last moment, logistics would become a headache for all of u. I was looking forward for this tho.

since the guys are coming from jaya nagar thru indira nagar n then KR puram... why not we park by outside RMZ Infinity on the old madras road opposite to Big Bazaar..

coz the last time I remember searching for the guys whom i was supposed to catchup after the bridge... we ended up calling..n searchin whoz who for 20-30mins, coz there are few other bikez who do a trip to chennai regulars on bike ...

It would be better if we can all meet at Cool Joint rather than at individual locations... that way we can discuss the route, rules and safe practises with everyone (Its a big group) before the ride... It'll also ensure that we leave early and on time to beat the early morning rush... It'll also avoid confusion...
I understand this will be an inconvenience for some as they'll have to travel some extra kms through the same route more than once... Just a thought...
(The meeting place can be some place other than Cool Joint as well, as long as all of us leave at the same time from a single point)

You're not alone. There a lot of ZMAs from Chennai. Krish will be on his ZMA-R Black, Steve on yellow, and me on red-black. If Anand from the Chennai gang turns up, add one red ZMA-R to the list.

For those who are meeting up at KR Puram Bridge, pick up a prominent open place where a group can easily be spotted from a long distance. Especially so because it would still be dark at that time.

I would suggest not more than 2 places to meet up, and not more than 15 mins waiting at each place.

I suggest regrouping can be done at Hoskote and Narsapur BEFORE Kolar. Make sure everyone is together while passing thru Kolar coz chances of getting lost in a town is easy. Regroup again at Mulbagal and then straight on to Palmaner.

Riding in a group would definitely be slower than riding alone. So anyone expecting a speed stint might be disappointed.

A few pointers from my side :-

Just a suggestion, meet somewhere that is more in the basic direction that you guys are headed. Like for someone staying in KR Puram would definitely not want to ride to Cool Joint and back there.

I suggest that you guys meet somewhere close to the KR Puram bridge, preferably some place that has huge signboards and can be easily spotted by people who would be new to that area.

Incase there is someone who is absolutely lost about how to reach KR Puram, etc. I suggest they find someone close to their place who can ride together to the meeting point.

I suggest you to start as early as possible to avoid buses that come in early hours between 6-8AM that are using this route.

And as everyone has been mentioning time and again, safe group riding is of utmost importance here. Especially coz this is not a particularly safe highway from a road surface/traffic POV. Watch out for unexpected potholes and speed breakers, and so high speed heroics here, being a single lane highway things can go terribly wrong. Keep in mind!

Chennai guys (for those who have not used this route much), the small ghat section before Chittoor is uber cool. You can get loads of bending and leaning pics here with some really fantastic curves, but do watch of trucks some of which come at unexpectedly high speeds. Oh and from a personal experience, there are too many bugs on this route at down...so keep those visors down, unless you want some bug chutney


Tank up before you leave town as there are not many fuel bunks along the route. Do try and ride out as close as possible to sunrise, its beautiful then. Chances of fog are also there, here's a sample of wat you can expect...

hey prajwal, excellent suggestions, regrouping places seem good with the distance margin. the roads arent that great though as praful has mentioned.

and speaking of you joining in the ride, the only logistics required is the accommodation. ill just buzz you an hour before the ride (4-4:30 am), if you're not confirmed then we'll not be waiting at the meeting point for you. accommodation wont be a problem dude, we can sleep on the floors if the need arises, its just one night that we have to spend there so chill

absolutely fine by me, if you need some contribution to the booking amount call me up . food would be at max 200 per head since we saved a lot on the food last time.. it was great.
