But even this place seems so strange!

                      But don't remember anything

                      I don't read stories
                      Yet when I hear ballads,
                      I recall some feeling; strange.

                      I do meet strangers
                      And I receive their warmth,
                      Still I miss something strange.

                      The most strange of all
                      Is the unease, helplessness,
                      When I'm at strange places
And it does not feel strange.

Today is a traders' strike in the city and therefore the office is unusually quiet. Barring my team members scattered here and there getting bored like hell, here I am going through your posts again and again. Whether you're a good writer or not Mishra ji, we will leave that to the learned, critical few but I wish to confess here right at this moment that it is really REALLY difficult to hold back tears. From drinking water frequently to just leaning back (as much as the chair's spring can take me!) and closing my eyes lest someone catches me in this condition, seems I am fighting against all odds. But I am just happy that read this.

Being in love is great - it is the best thing that can happen to us 'living' beings. Just a few lines, even words that are directed to entice one are enough to have the surface scratched and open a floodgate of emotions. Nostalgia that is difficult to get rid of. With me though things are very different from yours. It has been over a year and half now that we have not even texted each other. Being in different cities, we have not met even once. I had thought that time makes everything heal and eventually we all move on. But again MOVE ON - it is a very understated BIG word to use. Not everyone can move on. Till the other day it had seemed that I was finally winning the fight against my inner demons (though not a day/moment passes when I don't think about her) and today when I woke up the cloudy weather made me go all FLASHBACK. And then your blog at office - The lump at the back of my throat that had almost disappeared and resurfaced again only to make me restless even more. From the first pangs of love to writing silly letters to fighting and vowing to never leave each other to this day, life has surely been a tough taskmaster. It comes as a bit too strange considering the time period and the gap that we both have gone through. Days have been difficult but I 'think' I had managed. Words, lines, texts, letters and pictures, emotions, anything and everything seem to induce strong emotions and nostalgia today. But above all, why all of this had to happen at office only!? Writing this has come of a relief but one can never be sure that no one is standing behind your back and watching you going all 'khit-khit' on the keyboard when the others don't have any work! So occasionally, I turn back and make sure that I am free of shoulder surfers.

How many times had the thought of getting rid of all her letters and gifts had come to my mind but call it fear or arrogance or plain stupidity, I have not even touched a single thing yet. A few months back, it did occur to me that I could try to get back but something stopped me then. Today, I do not even know if she has changed here contact number, we are not friends on any social network and neither do I know if she has moved on. The only thing I am concerned about is how to make the heart understand that time and tide wait for none.

Sorry for infiltrating on someone else's thread but I hope everyone will understand and pardon me because I needed some outlet to let my emotions flow through the keyboard rather than take the route of eyes. And dude, to keep a poker face while reading your words has been very difficult. Why do you make things torturous for us yaar?

Thanks again for sharing your "Because I love you...."

                            Anyways... here are the answers.

No, it wont' be a good idea in the rains to do Mumbai to Delhi.

                            Why:

Mumbai to Delhi highway is all very smooth and fast. You would be running at a continous speed of 90 or 100 above. Infact, I am not exaggerating If I say that you can hold your speed above 110-120 on this highway for longer durations, and you seriously feel the need of having atleast a 600cc machine for the kind of highway it is.

                            .
                            .

Very helpful Mishraji. So I drop my idea for now then! Btw I remember you mooting an idea for a duke 200 bikers group for tours to nearby places.
Iam itching to see the ghats in the rains man. Would you be game ? drop me a pm if you are

ankit..great story. i agree parents are important..we have to give them their share of respect but not the cost of our own life..even i m in a relationship with a girl who is punjabi stays delhi and im in mumbai..itsbeen 3 years..i never gave ,,and never she did..soon we will be together..its just that you have to take that extra risk in life, be brave talk to respective parents, try convincing, make them realise that their daughter can never be hpy when married to someone else..if thay makes makes them hpy..then go ahead and get her married to someone else..thats what i did and worked for me..i was mentally very story and always had confidence...just dont give up my frnd..and frndship after relationship, can never be friendship...i hope that u will comeout as winner very soon and she will be urs...

For all my Frens, who keep touring,

NO, i dont' do a non stop run. That can land me in serious trouble.
I am frequent in taking recharging breaks, relaxing and then going ahead with the endeavor. And with all this I easily can cover upto 850-900kms in a day.

I am explaning... have a read,

                                1. Body fit. The big thing before planning for any such trip is to keep your body fit, I regularly do yoga and kickboxing for keeping myself fit.

                                2. Start in Morning 5am: has lots of advantage, seeing the morning sunrise recharges you, the energy you feel keeps you going the whole day.

                                3. Breaks: If I start in the morning 5am, then my butt breaks will come every 1 hr or 100 or 150kms(as the body demands). where i will stop relax my back and click a few pics and then move on.
I take my major break at around 11am. Have coffee or tea or whatever is the availability.

                                4. Keep a check on Drowsiness or tiredness... if I am feeling it, I make sure to have a sneaker or mars chocolate to recharge me or water,(drink it little and pour on yourself a little, on head and neck)

Or best would be a coffee break.(CCD coffees are good for it, but you don't get them everywhere.)
An ideal coffee break would be at 11amKeep yourself active: If I am going at a speed nearing 100 then I need to be super alert all the time, a lane changing attempt by a trucker and my inability to react fast to it, will land me in good trouble. So I keep my best to be active all the time.
By taking breaks, be it a fuel station and a little chaffing/banter with the fuel station guy.

                                6. Lunch break: At around 1 or 1:30pm, I usually feel hungry by then and try to locate some good restaurant. Having lunch takes me 1/2 an hour.
Make it a point to drink lots of water and EAT LIGHT.

                                7. Small Nap: Its a tendency in most of us to sleep after lunch or take an afternoon nap, I am no different.
My nap time comes at around 3pm. I stop at some tea kiosk or small Dhaba and relax my back on the wooden cot. Take a small nap say 1/2 an hour and I am ready to go till late in the night.
This afternoon nap charges me to a great extent.

                                8. Finish the ride before it becomes dark and the need to use headlamp starts.
I make sure that i am not riding in the night, so I try to finish my ride by 6pm. reaching any city and finding a hotel to stay by atmost 8pm.
Cities are generally crowded and it takes time to figure out a decent hotel before 8pm. Also you can arrive at your best negotiation in a city for a good hotel if you are there by 6pm.

                                9. Ride always at your comfortable speed.
If you can ride at a speed of 130kmph elsewhere, then a wise choice would be to ride at speeds 100-110 while touring.

                                .....................

                                Dear Naj,
touring on a bike is cool, but one should in no case jeopardize his safety.
This is not your last ride, there are new bikes going to be launched in India, you wish to try them, and then when you grow old you want to enjoy sexy cars...

Is this really your last ride?
Never push yourself, just for being a hero in the eyes of people who later won't matter at all.

be a safe rider, then an adventure rider...
