    South of Bosnia

    South of bosnia

After a rest for couple of days in Sarajevo, I headed to Foca a small town in South of Bosnia. Passed through few small towns and stopped at a place for a coffee, I looked very strange in that place. From foca the roads very narrow inside a forest till the Border of Montenegro.
(This particular stretch reminded me of the road between Athirampalli and Valparai in India. The checkpost at Athirampalli closes at 6 PM, I crossed it at 5.45 PM., I was really expecting the elephants in each and every bend - I think fellow riders from Coimbatore will understand exactly what i mean).
While I was riding from Foca, all these memories were passing by.

I crossed the Border, had some Breakfast at a river rafting camp and met few other Travelers from Poland.

        Montenegro

        Thanks mate

        Montenegro

means " Black Mountains" as the name stands for it was a country with Beautiful black mountainous Landscape. One of the best Landscapes in the whole trip so far.
After crossing the Bosnian Border I passed through Durmitor National Park approx 60 Km. No one except me , myself and the Nature. It was the best so far in the trip, given a chance i would do this stretch again sometimes.

Passed through Durmitor national Park, tara river canyon and stayed in Budva for the night. Budva was packed with Russian tourists. I met a guy at a restaurant, he turned to be the owner of the place and asked me about my trip and he even invited me for dinner at his place, I had to pay him by force. I went there the next day as well but i told him that " I would only eat, if he allows me to pay" but he gave more food than for what i paid for.

The next day I headed to Kotor Bay one of the Unesco Heritage for its old town and Fortress on the banks of the bay.

        Few Pics of Montenegro

            Albania

            Albania

I crossed the border of Montenegro and submitted my documents to Albanian Police. My swiss permit was valid till 30.09.2013 but the border official misunderstood the validity as 30.August. I took me almost 30 minutes to make him understand that 30.09.2013 means 30 th day of the September month. He even went to his higher official to clarify his doubt. He was the best genius, whom I have ever met. Apart from this trouble, I passed the Border without any further problems.

The moment I entered Albania, I felt like that I am in India. Absolutely no rules. It was a very good ground for me to test my riding abilities. After 10 minutes I picked up the rhythm of the traffic and It was too much fun to ride in Albania. Once one have rode in India, can ride anywhere in the world.

Albania is one of the most economically backward countries in the Continent. The landscape was totally dry. Roads were horrible. It remembered me the stretch between Chitradurga and hampi in India. I had to stop the bike and think about how to ride. It was 150 Km and it took me 6 hours to reach Hampi. But the point is , Taking that much of pain riding that stretch was more worth to visit Hampi.

But in Albania there was absolutely nothing. I just got exhausted when I left the country.

            Few Pics from Albania

              GREECE border and Meteoras

After a very tiring ride in Albania, I crossed the Greece Border with out any problems.
My first impression was,, It was too funny to see those symbols like alpha, beta, gamma, lamda, Pie and so on in our Maths, Physics books as a complete language.

Greece has lots of options to explore
Instead of going to some greek island and enjoying the Deep Blue see, I chose to visit the Historical & Archeological sites.

So I started with meteoras Monastries........................................ .......

                    BOND James BOND

A Bond fan would recognize this Picture very easily.

The monastery was featured in the 1981 Bond film, For your Eyes Only. It features in the climax to the film where Bond ascends the rock cliff and intrudes to retrieve the ATAC decoder.

                        Re: BOND James BOND

Later that evening, I ended up with Ricordo an Italian who rode a Chinese copied version of BMW with his side car from Beijing and he was on his way to Venice.
and another Italian with his BMW R 100 GS almost doing the same route as mine. We chatted a lot and ended up drinking together later we convinced a grand mother, owner of a restaurant to allow us to cook in her Restaurant . She was so happy and allowed us to cook in Kitchen. We cooked some pasta went drinking beer after beer.

We ordered Suovlaki from that restaurant--- I ended up eating Suovlaki every day atleast for once for all the days I stayed in Greece.

Ricordo showed all his photographs and beer later changed to a Georgian snaps. It was really a great evening................

                            Delphi

Thanks mates, Thanks for all your appreciations.

Till the end of my trip, I never checked about the Kilometers ... I only looked at the end. I will update at the end of the blog.

                            DELPHI

Delphi, is a very important Archaeological site in Greece. Ruis of Apollo Temple and a statue of Apollo in the museum.
The road and landscape of the way from meteoras to delphi was much similar like India. I could relate it to any village and country side in India. But neat and Clean.
Lots of agricultural lands, cotton crops, wild forests, paddy fields and so on. I took all the possible small country roads to Delphi.

Later in Delphi i met another biker, he gave me some coordinates , that i have to check on my way to Athens.......
