          Re: Austria 1

The whole trip was 7900 Km. Rode through Swiss, Italy, Croatia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Albania, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary and Austria.
Had only once a flat Tyre in Albania, but I had everything to fix it. It was not a problem at all. No breakdowns at all.

          About KTM

          Pros

          Lots of Power & Torque
Excellent for Offroad ( Did 130 Km offroad in Albania & 60 Km in Bulgaria). One could ride with good confidence on Offroad
          Very responsive in gear shifting.
Too much fun to ride the bike.

          Cons

High fuel consumption ( ranges from 6/100 Km (Asphalt) & 7 liters/ 100Km (Offroad)) . Too much for a adventure Travel Motorbike
Tank Capacity is only 20 liters and fuel range is only 300 Km. (Too less for a travel adventure motorcycle)
Very complicated ( to reach the spark plugs, one has to dismantle half of the motorbike)
For changing Oil one has to spend half a day.
          Too much of electronics

Every machine has its PRO's and CONS's but considering the fun to ride a KTM, its worth to take the pain of maintaining the Bike.

But if i ever go for a ride in Africa, I wont prefer to take a KTM.

I'm from Coimbatore too and I can relate to your story of being "inspired" by the many who love bikes in our city. Give us more flavour of Europe in your upcoming trips, wish you many more safe trips. Keep riding!
