Ride 4: Melukote
Ride 4: Melukote
Started the ride at 8.45 am. Took NICE road and connected to Mysore road. Mysore road especially on Sundays has become a pain to ride due to heavy traffic. Took diversion from Mandya and rode towards Melukote which is very famous for its temples: Sri Yoga Narasimha Swamy and Sri Cheluva Narayana Swamy temples.
Rode through beautiful country side roads and what really pleased me was the way the roads have been maintained. Beautiful tarmac. However I kept my speed at sane levels. Green all around.
Reached Melukote by 12.45 PM. Sr Yoga Narasimha Swamy Temple is right at the top of the hill and it was a good exercise to climb the steps. Finished darshan and by the time I went to Cheluvanarayan swamy temple, it was closed. Reopening time was at 3.30 PM. Paid my obeisance from outside and resumed my journey from the sleepy town.
Many Kannada, Tamil and Telugu movies have been shot in this town, especially at the holy pond known as 'Kalyani'.
I did not want to take the same route back because of horrible Mysore road traffic on Sunday. Last week I suffered. Did not want to experience the same. I took NH48 (Hassan-Bangalore), and the road which connected Melukote to NH 48 is one of the best stretches I have ridden till date. Passing through villages, a mini jungle (Don't know the right English term), it's a bliss. I did not stop much to take pics as I wanted my joy of ride to be uninterrupted.
Once I was on fantastic NH 48, I unleashed the beast. Encountered heavy rains from Nelamangala. The Stallion performed really well even in most wet conditions. Pirelli Angels are fantastic and braking is fantastic in wet conditions too.
As usual, I returned home completely drenched. Of late, thanks to rain god, I am returning from every ride thoroughly soaked and rinsed.
Time for pictures:

Met this wanderer. He was enjoying his bicycle ride and was happy to pose. I could see the way he was enjoying his bicycle ride. Look at his bike, the way it's been decorated and kept:

He had a detailed look at my beast, asked few innocent questions and tried my gloves too:

He said, one day he would like to buy TVS XL.
Green all around:

Look at this, so serious:

Look at the tarmac:

Overall ride distance: Approximately 350 kms

Awesome travelog [emoji108]
Well I second that about the tyres. The day I took the delivery of the bike it was raining and the way it handled was really awesome.
Another incident is that I had to pass through a very sleezy muddy area and was not really confident but the bike and the tires really handled very well. I feel that I made the right choice with this angel( I call my bike as angel [emoji4])
