and AFAIK, his new bike has already done 500kms, so run-in won't be a problem. I just hope the registration happens smoothly on time.
Wasn't worried about him at all (have heard amazing things about his riding skills)!!! Was worried about his bike )) And yes I hope his registration happens smoothly too (for his and our sake!)!

I have! E75 with inbuilt GPS, loaded with our 'Ol favorite Google MAPS...
Inder has N91, so G-Mps works in that too.

Didnt knw tht, really bad. I wanna sleep wid the internet where ever I go (Where there is network)

I was planin to use lattitude so tht we can save precious time but not wasting our presious time by statements over the phn like, "Woh petrolpump ke yaha par wait kar raheee hain.", "Woh left, phir right", "Tuu aaage chalaa gaya yaar, abh picheee aaaa".

Galtii see main kabhi kabhii aagee rehtaaa hooon, usmee bhi picchee aaane kooo boltee hain . WOH is to be used as a ubiquitous landmark.

@Spidy: Waiting for ur backup plan.

Update on roads (read it on another forum):
Laila comes to the rescue..! Its pulling the clouds towards it!

The roads are open and under repair for some sections, so not officially announced yet.

I am chilled. I know that we are not doing Great Sahara Ride or Antarctic Expedition. I have BSNL postpaid connection and so am not bothered at all.

My post was meant as additional information to whoever is planning on using Vodafone GPRS. (I remember alankar trying it in Lavasa).

If added info is causing distress, I will detest from posting.

                            • ahem, guys.. good going with the preparations.

good to see cosgeo popping up into the ride.

BTW, about the GPS thingy, unless you guys have fixed maps that do not depend on GPRS, it will not be useful where you might need it the most.

All of you who have Nokia S60 based devices, get the ovi maps and download India maps into your phones. It is FREE for Nokia's. If someone wants Garmin maps and especially those in Shimla - Leh - Srinagar route with POI's (that you cannot find in other maps), PM me. This works for Windows Mobiles, Symbian and Palm devices. I've got it working on my Windows mobile.
