@All: Guys, do me a favour. When on the Leh manali stretch do find out whether there would be a proper place to stay(read proper sanitation facilities) in Sarchu or somewhere near it. (We have plans for a 2 day run to leh from manali - with wives - in august)

Excuse me??? And what if you decide on the 30th that you won't be riding? I'm supposed to do a trip to Delhi in two days alone???? Dudes please don't give us such heartattacks last minute! First Satyen drops out, then Inder decides to take off to Agra and now you're not even sure.

misraji - i would still like to advise you to avoid the mad dash to delhi.if you want to ride than take 3 days else train is a better option.

remember the actual journey would be starting from delhi & you don't have to prove anything to anybody.

DK I'm with you on that. But given that we have only 4 riders from Mumbai its either me riding with Spidey or Spidey riding alone. But yes I have my concerns too and will discuss it with Spidey when we meet Saturday. I think it would be better if Spidey rode with us on the 29th. 4 riders would be marginally slower but a lot safer and we'll reach in a reasonably decent physical condition to actually enjoy the trip to Leh instead of dragging our feet and our bikes through it. And no I'm not trying to prove anything to anyone but I see your point

Secondly I agree with DK, Alankar you riding with SpyD will make him slower and will drain you to the core. Fk! Even I wouldnt want to attempt a mad riding spree like his!

Arre the original plan was always me riding out early with everyone else and Spidey riding alone. He only suggested I ride with him and since he has seen my riding style, etc. I assumed he thought I could handle it. Anyway since you guys are suggesting not to do it (and I have my concerns as well), I'll discuss it with Spidey and see if I can ride along with Motor and Cosgeo.

Satyen - Motor is definitely riding out on 29th at 3pm. Cosgeo is still unsure about his bike papers so he is not a 100% in. You can ride along with us on 29th (assuming I'm riding on the 29th too). To be honest, I think this would be a LOT SIMPLER if Spidey rode with us on the 29th at 3pm. I know we'll slow him down, but I don't think we are trying to set a speed record here. Given Cosgeo's paper issues, it would be very comforting to know that Spidey is gonna be there.

But at this point, Spidey too is unsure about coming, so frankly its just me and Motor who are confirmed. And we have 9 days to go which is what is making me jittery. Oh well, can't complain I guess. Will discuss this with Spidey on Saturday and confirm things at least on my front once and for all.

firstly no one will slow him down or something.get that out of your heads.especially alankar -- i have seen you riding & you can easily keep pace.

I know how spidy rides on long runs & he is not the mad racer type to continuosly hover above 120+ speeds.

at most we usually were between 95-115 continuosly during the bun burner.

& most importantly

spidy job bhi dekh raha hai

& LEH yatra too in one go !!!

no worries people.. gprs will work till manali, then in leh and then from jammu if you have a postpaid connection..

the only time you will be out of coverage area is the place where you wont find time to speak on the phone because of the abundant beauty of nature around

besides if you get lost between manali - leh, there will be thousand other bikers riding.. just wait for five minutes at any place and you will hear a royal enfield thumping
