Revised schedule Part II
A few colleagues suggestions resulted in this schedule. Thanks to Yogesh Sarkar of BCMT
10 Jun Sunday Jammu afternoon: Rendezvous of members, introductions, checks and prep for the next day.
11 June Monday Jammu to Srinagar/Pahalgam: Start from a place agreed to on 3rd. Pahalgam has been reported as a better alternative to Srinagar. We can decide in-situ
12 June Tuesday Srinagar/Pahalgam to Drass/Kargil: If Zojilla proves too time consuming, then Drass else Kargil.
13 Jun Wednesday Kargil to Leh via Lamayuru:
14 Jun Thursday Leh: 1st day of acclimatisation, sight-seeing, application for permits, bike and equipment check etc. Carb reset done here.
15 June Friday Leh: 2nd day of acclimatisation and sight-seeing if required.
16 June Saturday Leh to Siachen: Onward journey.
17 Jun Sunday Siachen to Leh: Return journey.
18 June Monday Leh to Pangong Tso: Onward journey
19 June Tuesday Pangong Tso to Chushul: Night halt Nyoma/Chushul (I want to stay in my old hut in Chushul, if I can)
20 June Wednesday Chushul to Upshi/Leh: Upshi if there is a fuel pump there else Leh, rest in Leh, prep for the return trip.
21 June Thursday Upshi/Leh to Pang/Sarchu: self explanatory.
22 June Friday Pang/Sarchu to Keylong: ditto
23 June Saturday Keylong to Manali/Kulu: depending upon what people prefer
24 June Sunday Kulu to Ambala: for me as I will catch a train from there to Pune.
Total days on the road: 14.
Emergencies etc: 2 days in spare on both sides for travel arrangements.
Grand total: 16 days.

The updated schedule is totally fine by me.
I do have one request though. Can we freeze the dates as soon as possible? I need to apply for leave from work well in advance for it to be sanctioned. (I had in fact already applied for leave as per the previous schedule, but I know we cant ride through closed passes either!)
So if we can finalise this schedule, I can get my leave approved. The more I delay, the more the chances of my leave getting rejected, and that would just kill me
So other rides, can we reach a consensus on dates soon?

You see, this schedule is for ME. As I have written earlier, even if there is just an odd cow swatting flies at Jammu Railway Station on 11 Jun, I will ride solo because I have to do this trip when I am hale and hearty (the very first post will clarify why). A group would be more than welcome; there is a different pleasure to have company in the midst of the majestic silence of the Himalayas. But and but, I will not be changing this schedule too frequently in the interests of my leave sanction too
As of now, the dates are frozen. You may change your application accordingly, IF and IF you wish to ride on these days.
I may appear to be a loner but that is the way it is; one cannot keep changing schedules, right?Comment

Blore - Leh-Blore in 10 days is not doable. If you have a crunch for time, then you would have to fly to Leh, do Leh and surrounding areas in a taxi and fly back.Originally posted by nagoo View PostComment
