    Thanks anyways bro

Now that was helpful. As I plan to take the same route for my next weekend's ride.

Hey guys.. I am currently in north Kerala ( from 3/4/2015 to until now..) I am from Kannur but my home is located very close to WAYANAD... This post is just to give everyone, who is planning a trip to WAYANAD or other northern districts of kerala, a glimpse on the current riding condition.

      1) IT IS VERY STORMY UNLIKE ANY OTHER YEARS...

      - Yes it is not raining heavily but we are experiencing storm like never before... Trees are getting uprooted everywhere and I went for short trip to assess the condition whenever rains took a break. Even huge trees are getting uprooted and branches falling down has become very common. Three cars got severely damaged while on road in my village itself and the region wide losses counts to cores of rupees. Four trees got uprooted just at my home Imagine!.

      2) WHENEVER IT IS RAINING, IT IS LIKE WATER BALLS COMING DOWN

      - This is something I need not tell those who have visited kerala during monsoon. The visibility becomes extremely low and the sound of the rain makes it impossible to listen to anything else.

      3) ROADS ARE NOT DAMAGED ANYWHERE AS FAR AS I KNOW ( I AM TALKING ABOUT THE WAYANAD - KANNUR STRETCH)

      - roads are still really good but visibility issues are there. there are broken branch pieces on almost all roads in wayanad and kannur and there are high chances that you might skid over one of those if you are not attentive enough.

PS: THE SOLE PURPOSE OF THIS POST IS TO DISCOURAGE YOU PEOPLE FROM PLANNING A TRIP TO WAYANAD OR KANNUR SINCE IT CAN BE REALLY RISKY. I AM NOT BEING A COWARD BUT I AM TRYING TO WARN YOU SINCE I AM STAYING HERE. TRUST ME THESE PEOPLE ARE GOING THROUGH EXTREME WEATHER CONDITIONS LIKE THEY HAVE EXPERIENCED NEVER BEFORE. SO DON'T JUDGE THIS POST BY YOUR PREVIOUS TRIP EXPERIENCES TO KERALA. THIS TIME MONSOON IS REALLY REALLY DIFFERENT HERE. IN CASE IF YOU ARE STILL PLANNING A TRIP, I REQUEST YOU TO GIVE BREAK TO RIDING WHENEVER IT IS RAINING AND WHENEVER YOU GET THE SLIGHTEST HINT OF WIND BECAUSE IT MIGHT EVENTUALLY BECOME A STORM.

RIDE SAFE AND STAY SAFE BROTHERS.. cheers

I am doing the Pune - Varandha - Poladpur - Mahabaleshwar - Pune circuit this weekend. If anyone had done this route recently, please update on road condition.

        Cheers,

My riding buddy was on a trip to Goa albeit by car about a week ago. The diversions under all the numerous, still under construction flyovers, between Pune and Satara NH4 are in potholes and tend to slow down highway traffic. On Amboli that, there are two short bad stretches off which one is near Ajara. Overall, one should budget for an extra 30 to 45 minutes on the Pune - Goa stretch via Amboli.

Hey guys! I am planning to do a konkan trip (not treading the coast but just travelling East to West till the coast and then back. The routes to (Kondapur-Anjarle) and fro (Anjarle-Kondapur), are attached ). Has any of you travelled on these roads recently?? Any information on the road condition would be helpful. Thanks in advance .

It's not about what you ride. It's about where you take it.

I can only suggest you avoid the bhor ghat crossover from the coast to NH4 as it is in bad condition, instead you can consider going to poladpur on the coast road and taking the Mahabaleshwar route to Wai and then heading towards Pune, you will come to the turn off on your right to Kondapur. I have no clue about road conditions thereafter. Do post an update of the road conditions after you return. Safe ride!

Thanks a lot Maybe I'll take the mahabaleshwar route on the return too and avoid Varandha Ghat. How is the road from Kass Plateau to mahabaleshwar via Bamnoli, Taploa and Taldeo?? It does not look like a major route on the map but sure does seem to be scenic.

Tapola is scenic indeed and if I remember correctly is around 50km from Mahabaleshwar. The road conditions were not good though, at least last year when I went.

                          Hi,
I am planning Pune - Wardha - Nagpur tour in November. My current planned route is Pune - Nagar - Aurangabad - Jalna - Mehkar - Karanja - Pulgaon - Wardha - Nagpur.
Has anyone been recently on this route? Please update on road condition.
I think it would safe to assume that Pune to Aurangabad patch should be good enough. Have concerns about Aurangabad to Wardha patch.

                          Cheers,

Jalna-Sindkhedraja section is very bad, afterwards some large potholes near Shirpur-Malegaon. Mehkar byepass and roads around Karanja are good.

You may alter your route from Karanja and instead of Pulgaon-Wardha opt for Amravati. The whole section is great and four lanes from Amravati onwards up to Nagpur.

My dad suggested to take the DeoolgaonRaja road from Jalna and then take right for sindhakhaedraja just before DeoolgaonRaja. Jalna DeoolgaonRaja road is highway I think, so should be better. Increases distance by 15 km but seems worth it.

Can't skip Wardha due to some family commitments.
