not sure but it should run till you can ride it!

    For other:

    one question ??

Is is necessary to start from Point A and come back to Point A only ??
    or
We can ride from point A and complete 1600+kms till point B and get this SS done ??

Why to come back to same point? we can try this while going to some state to state ride too ??

Is this a rule for this SS ??

Bro how difficult it is to check all the rules at SaddleSore 1000/Bun Burner 1500 Rules rather than checking at random. SS or BB is not a leisure ride, which one does often. Too much of risk and too much at stake, if planning is not proper. I would recommend you to do your homework(rules) and check travelogues of folks who did these rides and got certified. Documentation is very important for IBA rides. Please do not neglect that.
        My best wishes.

See, the rule only states 1000 mi (1600 Km) in 24 hours & clearly states no back & forth run (like Chennai-Bangalore-Chennai-Bangalore-Chennai-Vellore also makes 1600 Kms)

So it free for you to do something like Chennai to Surat or Chennai - Mumbai - Satara (end the ride even at Satara) & return back home. But the proofs submitted will be only from Chennai - Mumbai - Satara.

            Hope you got the point.

First, avoid typing in all CAPS. It means you're shouting.

Secondly, gel seats or not depends upon your comfort level. Just ensure that the seat is neither too hard, nor too soft. Just firm enough!
Engine oil and other maintenance duties should be done "prior" to the ride. Carry few essential stuff like clutch cable, headlamp bulb, torch, screw driver etc for emergency.

                        Congrats!!

                        Just to confirm?
How did you send the documents? Did you mail them (the conventional way) or did you scan and send them over email?

And more importantly, how did you pay?

Attempting IBA Saddle sore 1600K challenge - suggestions needed

                          Hello Friends ,
I've planned to attempt the Saddle sore 1600k challenge on My Karizma R (2008 model) . Have decided to ride on 1 August '15 .
                          chosen route : Coimbatore - Hosur - Chitradurga - Kittur - Chitradurga - Hosur - Coimbatore, totally covering 1676 Kms .
                          here's the map link : https://goo.gl/maps/rqVEL

This is my first attempt. so I need some expert guidance for framing the ride starting time. valuable suggestions, tips, traffic updates & information inputs on the route are highly appreciated. please share your knowledge in this regard. Thanks in advance .

                            Re: Q: Saddlesore attempt help

Hi guys, like most of the others in here, I too am planning to attempt the saddle sore challenge some time in May. Planning to do Belgaum- Bangalore- Pune- Belgaum. I'm from Goa and since NH4 seems to be the best safe bet to complete it, I'm planning to proceed to Belgaum one day prior, start at 1900h in the evening after a good day's sleep. . I'm familiar with the route till Tumkur and I'll try to manage the rest.
Now I've gone through most of the threads and am generally aware of all that's required. I have a cbr250 and I've done a 17 hour stretch endurance ride.
I have one doubt, the iron butt site mentions the bubbler GPS app which can be used , now I'm a bit technologically challenged, so I'd be glad if anyone can throw any light on how to use it. I mean , can it be used to help authentication?
And I'm looking for any kind of advice or criticism , either for my plan, ride, timings whatever and in any form is welcome.

Having done two Saddlesores and one BunBurner myself (first SaddleSore has been certified while I am awaiting the certification of remaining rides), I think I can comment on your doubt with confidence

No, you don't need to use/submit a GPS log of your ride. It's a nice to have thing for IronButt in order to validate and certify your ride. So long as you are collecting fuel bills and logging entries in ride log, you are good.

I can't comment on the route since I am not familiar with it. Other than that, your plan to start in the evening is perfect for a SaddleSore. All the best!!

                              Ride hard, Ride safe!

Guys, IBA certifications have been made very strict for Indian rides. Now, your witnesses have to be IBA certified. Please visit IBA INDIA IRONBUTT -III page to know more. Also, someone from that group has to track your GPS throughout ride. They also give live updates of your ride on their page. Do not waste your attempt without knowing all this. Please check on that facebook page before you attempt. All the best.
