Soft compounds like any any compounded tire coupled with rain, will lose traction, but you wouldn't want your ass wobbling with a a hard compound and these bloody darn compounds lock with with at 20 deg celcius on a light gravel road.. so long for hardies. And with soft compound, it instills better confidence both wet and dry is excellent. Remember a worn (completely threadless hard compound) will perform close to a soft compound with an excellent tarmac when heated up properly. Throw in the common man's jingalala and the equation turns crazy.

Why such a big profile tire for a TVS, which bike do you own, and 130/70 is FZ stuff we're talking about.

I don't think you'll get Battlax here, at the best you can try importing Pirellis or locally avlbl Shinko tires used for superbikes' front tires. But that's subject to avlblty, contact Bachoo those fellas sell Shinko and PlanetDSG.

ya, i have seen shinko at bachoo motors, but i think battlax is available in india....

do you know what tyres they used in various track racing events in india at MMSC kari etc...

Guys I have been following the thread, there seems to be a lot of confusion among various variants of Zapper, Mo-grip and Revz tyres in Mrf. Just adding my 2 cents:

First of all Zapper is a series - all conventional non radial tyres:
Not including all variants, just differentiating among the most sold ones.
Available both for front and rear;
- front has 2 alphabets as suffixes (leaving some exceptions) eg. Zapper FS, Zapper FY
- rear has single alphabet as suffixes (leaving some exceptions) eg. Zapper C, Zapper Y

1] Zapper Y - Stock Zma tyre - not prone to punture
2] Zapper C - Stock Pulsar tyre - not prone to puncture unless 85-90% tread has worn off, also tends to skid after that
3] Zapper S - Stock R15 tyre - excellent grip - highly prone to punctures after approximately 8k kms
4] Zapper Q - Stock RE classic/CBR150r tyre - excellent grip, not prone to punctures, long life, apart from CBR150r's 130/70 rest all Zapper Q's are tube-types
5] Zapper Vyde - doesn't come stock on any bike - excellent grip, not prone to punctures
6] Zapper FY - R15 V1's stock tyre
7] Zapper FY1 - R15 V2's stock tyre

Newly announced - Zapper S (r15 V1's design) in 140/70-17 and Zapper FY in 110/70-17, Zapper FQ in 80/100-17 TL, 80/100-18TL, 100/80-17 TL, Zapper P in 90/90-18 TT/TL - stock not yet reached at the dealers

Revz is a series as well - all radial tyres

1] Revz - 140/60 R17 - FZ/Fazer stock tyre - Prone to punctures - Current market situation - not available due to strike
2] Revz S - 130/70 R17 - R15 V2 stock tyre - Not really as prone to punctures as the V1's Zapper S - if searched properly, can be sourced, meager supply though
3] Revz C - 150/60 R17 - Duke 200's stock tyre - Not prone to punctures at all - light in weight almost at par if not less than conventional 120/130 section tyre - can be used on 200ns, R15 V2, FZ/fazer, Cbr150/ Cbr 250, Ninja 250r - rounds up on the rim giving exceptional cornering grip - rare to find due to strike, but still available
4] Revz FC - 110/70 R17 - Duke 200's stock front tyre - same features and compatibility as the rear tyre

Mo-grip is the new dual purpose series - all tube type tyres:
1] Meteor - 100/90-17, 100/90-18, 120/80-17, 110/90-19, 120/80-17 TL (only tubeless in the Mogrip series - stock not available though)
2] Moto-D - only 100/90-17 available in larger size rest all are small commuter sizes
3] Meteor- M - only commuter sizes

As far as I know, it comes in 120/80- 18 TT, 120/90-18 i don't remember seeing one, will confirm though ! Because MRF's site is stupid, Sizes which are available in a particular pattern/variant are not mentioned on the size and vice versa !

Excellent, but you forgot to add the Zapper FS . Also I'd like to note that, tyres that are prone to punctures are almost always on the softer side, like you've rightly mentioned the Pulsar series or TVS series, these tires last to armageddon as they are harder, resists wear, puncture and overall, to keep the pocket lighter.

But all in, good compilation. I think you should just start a separate thread and post all the tire sizes and then ask the moderator to close the thread, and if you want to add anymore, you can ask the moderator to edit and add the add ons.
