    you cAn either have puncture resistant tyres- with low grip i.e hard compounds
    Or soft compound i.e. high grip tyres... but they will be susceptible to punctures... so you have to live with one... now what I am about to say will anger most guys but will be the right thing to do. stick to stock front tyre... get a ceat vertigo 120/17 or vertigo rage 130/17 rear. best grip medium compound....quite resistant to punctures and is the choice for leh guys so will work for you as well... but not available in the tubeless avatar... also... mrf metior can catch your envy... similar to the ceat vertigoes but come in tubeless as well.



    I miss the michelin m45. Soft compound good offroader excellent lasting phenomenal road grip and yes wasnt even very costly at its hay days.... hmmmm rajnikant of tyres it was....

      Go for Michelin Pilot Street Radial, Dunlop Tuffgrip, MRF Revz-M. Except MRF Revz, other two tyres are 140/70 17 profile.

      If you maintain proper tyre pressure, you will not face any issues with puncture.

        Anyone can confirm if there is any option available from MRF with Hard Compound Tyre in the following Size of

        110/70 R17
        140/70 R17

        If yes please provide name of the tyre...can't find any good info at MRF website.

        Are those size readily available in Kolkata Region ?

        Please let me know....

          You want hard compound tyres?! why in the world would you want hard compound tyres?!! That size looks cbr ka native size... im from kolkata. and I am sorry but I have no idea if anyone would want you to use hard compound tyres... tyres are cheaper then bikes and bones not worth it. And I am sorry if I sounded rude.


          I dont thing you would need stuff any harder then your contigos on the cbr... thats enough suffering:banghead:

          But just for your fancy... tvs is the brand for you! Grab any tvs tyre if you want hard compound shitty tyres.


          If any doubt is present:-

          1) soft compound = high grip = wears out faster = prone to puncture = costly = will let you use your bikes chassis dynamics to the fullest i.e lean like rossi! Better lean angles. Best performer = better braking Eg:- mrf revs, pirellies, metz etc.

          2) hard compound = low grip = lasts very long = rubbidh on wet tarmac slush etc = dosent get punctured easily = cheaper usually = wont let your bike stretch its legs and wont give you any confidence. = bike will fishtail ,slide and usually crash under harsh braking.

            So far the tyres are fantastic for their price. At just 4200bux a pair they are value for money.

            I have run it only for like 500kms and so far I have been able to lean really well and they are just fantastic overall.

            Overall performance wise I will say they are better than Zappers and WAY better than Pilot Sporty shits. They can perform really well.

            Just looking at a Indian brand we always tend to ignore them without even checking them out first. Will be taking them to Laddakh ride tonight. Lets see how they go .

              Hey guys!
              I have a CBR250R C-ABS version.
              I have clocked 15k+ on the stock ContiGo tires... And now I need to replace them.
              Please suggest me a proper replacement.
              Requirement: Good grip, cornering confidence, wet grip, loose gravel grip for occasional off roading...Basically a tyre that can hold the road come what may ��
              Life expectancy: Good grip means soft compound, means shorter life... Still I want it to be sober till at least 10-12k
              Choices I have found: Pirelli Sport Demon, Michelin Pilot Street
              I live in Chandigarh and here the tyre prices are much higher than Delhi... I won't mind coming to Delhi for the tires but if somebody knows a decent place to get the tires in Chandigarh then let me know...
              I am open to any other suggestions... I wish to stick with the stock tyre size.
              also, if you guys can give me the price too then it would be great!!

                Excellent choices both.

                Having used both the tyres and also having had the same bike for two years, I would say that the Pirelli is a better all weather/all terrain performer out of the two. I found that the PSD copes better with muddy sections and sandy surfaces in comparison to the Pilot Streets, but on dry and wet tarmac they are about the same, leeches both. The Michelin might have better ultimate performance due to its radial construction, but then a CBR250 is not capable of pushing the tyre to get to that point, so that is moot.

                Bear in mind that these tyres have a much rounder profile compared to the stock ContiGos, so when you first lean into a corner you feel like the bike has a tendency to fall over more than you intended compared with the stock tyres, certainly with the Pilot Streets. Takes a bit of getting used to, and then once you're done getting comfortable with the feeling you find that there are more number of acute angles that you can take with the bike. It certainly is a revelation compared to the stock tyres, especially on wet surfaces.

                    I'm not sure about the availability and prices up north. But the last time I checked at a shop here in Bangalore the shop quoted me 10k for a pair of 110/70 & 140/70 17inch PSDs. Of course the same shop quoted me higher prices for the Pilot Streets also and I ended up getting the Michelins from some other shop.

                    I do not have any other reference prices for the Pirellis other than that.

                      Cool.. No issues. I will check with the dealers in Delhi. Here in Chandigarh a single, rear MPS costs 5,800. Pirelli isn't available..
                      I'm keeping 10k aside for the set.. That's my budget. Thanks for the input bro! [emoji106]

                          Yes.. I'm looking for to change my CBR's rear Tyre at least and looking for option brand like MRF and Dunlop other than Conti . The problem is CBR Tyre Size..not every company produced them & it is not easily available (I believe) and that too in Kolkata. Another problem Tyre Installation, due to lack of main stand it is not possible install anywhere.

                          I'm looking for Dunlop Tuff Grip 140/70 R17 or MRF Zaper Q on the same size for the Rear & Something suitable for 110/70 R17 for front. Don't want to spend fortune on a other imported sports Tyre

                          My question where in Kolkata, I can buy this ?

                            You can get your tyres changed at any shop that has a paddock stand my friend. Most shops in wellington hold these stands...btry making a trip to wellington area ahead of mullick bazar park circus(nonapukur tram depot)... you will find many tyre shops that will charge you 100rs per tyre change if you provide them the tyre. You can buy these tyres from say snapdeal dot com. Which has a lot of tyre options and a wide delivery area.. or you can visit jaggu bazar area in kolkata for all your tyre thirsts...

                            Ceat shoom rear and dukus front tyre combo is good. Or just switch to the duke 200's mrf revs set! It will be easier to source.

                                Rabindra sadan metro after exide wala area is jaggu bazar... pure punjabi area hai apna ji


                                And you are right on the mullick bazar area. Also visit wellington that is ahead of mullick bazar(go straight ask anyone there)
