I have always been a student of finance so i do observe the Economy of the Country. During the recent crisis which led to a very steep fall in oil prices. The oil was as cheaper as rs 10 per liter in Indian currency. The government companies according to a source purchased so much during these times that the fuel is enough for the next 5 years for the entire nation. In fact corrupt politicians also have purchased large amounts of fuel or crude shares from the International markets. The prices have just increased in India. And as some1 is comparing the European nations , guys the inflation over there is quite high in ratio of the salary.I mean those guys do not mind paying huge chunks of money because their income is high.
now its the same old method. Raising the prices to sky high & at the time of elections dropping it to a large extent & then saying that because of us the the petrol is available at such a low price.

Bolded 1st part-> I thought students of Finance are little more discerning than that.

Bolded 2nd part-> No words & unfortunately no smiley for it either.

there are two shell petrol pumps in my vicinity...one sells shell super at ~64 and the other one sells at 60.55 that's maybe because it's out of bounds of municipal corp.
there's merely 1 rs. difference between HP and shell but they're always deserted...people are afraid of them

Where exactly are these 2? Please Guide. I am currently fed up with the inconsistent HP / BP quality.

Agree to the . Even though by a small margin, it shows the course of things to come. Hiking prices are not such a big problem for the government any more.

                          • Dealer margins revised for Petrol & diesel

Petrol & Diesel prices have been revised nation-wide, due to upward revision of dealer margins.
The hike is between 8p-10p a liter for petrol, as well as diesel.

We BANGALOREANS are the worst affected by the prices of fuel. Already the petrol here is costing something around 57.95 & now with the price increase it will cost 58.XX.

Ethanol can be a good substitute for petrol. We are already using it as all the petrol sold in our country contains 5% of ethanol. The premium petrol contains even more amounts of ethanol. The only problem with ethanol is its residues. The ethanol produces acids & moisture which can corrode the engine internals.
