  • another price rise and the oil companies will still make losses! i dont mind paying for fuel if this is the real price of fuel in the market, but we in india are paying around 53% tax on the market price of fuel!
the tax we pay are among the highest among developing countries of world ! Its only in developed countries like UK and France that its higher than India. And considering that the income there is way way more than India its pure daylight robbery! Tax on fuel in US is just 16%.

so this means that the government is making a fool out of us. First of all they are charging such an amount in tax & making profits & later they show that they are giving subsidies & hence they have a loss so that people might not think too much in paying such an amount over the petrol.

      • THe 53%taxes are in place so that the price of LPG and kerosene stay at a sane level,

LPG: There is Rs 200+ subsidy on each domestic LPG cylinder
Kerosene: There is approx Rs 14 subsidy on each liter of kerosene

Knock of that 53% an watch the Prices skyrocket,Sometimes you do have to look at the bigger picture

No dude the normal volvo costs have risen from 18 to 30(Flat Rs.12 a month or two ago) atleast on my route(not sure about the rest). Dunno the reason for the steep rise and now it may go northwards with the increased fuel price

My office timing forces me to commute at prime office hours. So I dont have options

I know those BIA buses and stay away from them unless when I am going to Airport.

                        • I am bored!
what ever the govt does, still millions of people will die of hunger.

And for petrol,we students will suffer.
The prices always goes up never comes down
Govt says the companies are suffering losses on the other hand they are buying other companies and oil fields!

                            • i had came to know about this from a colleague of mine. Then later on made a search on google & found this news. When i had read this i was like WTF. As someone earlier said it is we students who would suffer.

& add to this they have even increased the annual road tax (in karnataka). Now i have started hating the government. Sometimes i get very frustated over it. I am even more amused by the fact that even after this much tax collections still the government is in crisis. The money from the taxes just goes into the pockets of the bloody politicians.
