No kidding ! I rode the entire ring road from yeswantpur - banaswadi- hsr - banshankari and it took me like 2 and half hours in total ! Plus considering that we're stuck in crawling traffic most of the fuel is wasted idling and edging along in 1st-2nd gear.

I still would prefer a combo of buses + walking in bangalore. I could ride from Bangalore to Pune in 15 hours but I cant tolerate more than 3 hours of city riding.

On top of the fuel is expensive so we might be paying practically like 75 rs a litre cause most of it is wasted ! Cost per km would be high in bangalore due to high taxes, traffic snarls, longer routes to a particular destination (thanks to tons of one way streets)

well now the vajra buses in banglore is gonna have a rush. Now due to the fuel costs i have a very good reason to travel in buses. Even before this price hike also i used to prefer the buses( mostly vajra) to travel towards majestic. But i think that the buses fares would also increase.

I tried that already bro...Buses get really frustrating @ office hours.

Hence seriously thinking of a bicycle.

The Volvos here in bangalore are already freaking expensive. A 12.5kms * 2 journey(J P Nagar<>Ecospace) costs 60bucks ...Add to that the time it takes(~90-100mins one way)

you gotta be kidding. I travel from Jalahalli cross to majestic (15kms) & it costs me only Rs.15. Maybe you are traveling in those airport buses. But if it is that costly then you can take a Vajra gold daily bus pass for Rs.75 & can travel the whole day in vajra buses & any other buses excluding the airport buses & the interstate buses.

I dont think that the buses are frustating dude. It is much better than driving a car or a bus. You dont have a fear of police, accident, fines or the heat. You can just relax in the seat while the bus driver takes all these tension.

but Yeah i do accept your point that it can be frustating at office hours when we have the fear of getting late.

now the cost per km of bikes would be close to 1 rupees. I feel very sad when i see the money from my purse going into the hands of the petrol bunk attender.

yeah i came to know just now. I had went to majestic & the conductor charged me Rs.13 instead of Rs.11. When i had asked the conductor then he told me that the prices of all bus tickets have been hiked by 2 rupees.

Actually it had been a more than 1 & half month since i had travelled in bus so i didnt knew about the new fares.

Most of them in brazil use Gasolin or ethanol as fuel.
Because they are not dependent on other countries for natural fuel...They grow fuel in there farms...(ethanol...not kidding)
