Satish'jee , why don't you try out yamalube 20w40 mineral SG/SL , since you are also changing out from HH 10w30 like me . It's very nice ...
    b) your ZMA will be very happy with mineral 20w40 .
    a) easy to find at your nearest yamaha authorised dealer .
    b) guaranteed genuine and correct price , since u are buying from OEM parts counter .
    c) less likely to contain too much additives since mineral only and formulated by an OEM .
    d) priced around 200 Rs only , use the money u save to buy petrol and take a long trip somewhere nice .

I want more smoother ride, so that why am opting for a Fully Synthetic ride. more over FS would last for atleast 5-6k kms. Petronas would cost me around 450-500rs and i directly get it from their office in mumbai....so no worries of a counterfit. Besides it aint that common a oil in india for some one sell a duplicate one!

I have used motul 20W40 for the splendor in the past. I liked it, but its a pain to travel 10kms everytime to get. So am using ELF oil now!

Is Motul 5100 really that cheap in India? I guess the price you are talking about is of Motul 3000 which is a mineral oil.

if mineral, then go for motul 5100. i m not sure whether it is available in xW30. sorry abt that. but u can ask the dealer for semi synth oil options.

or if u want to go for full synth u have two options. 7100 & 300V FL.
7100 is a bit cheaper than 300V. but 300V is the best bet.

7100 cost around 725/- per ltr
300V cost around 800-850/- per ltr
(*prices may vary, coz i heard sometime back that motul is going to hike prices )

Motul 300V is much much better than Motul 7100 as Motul 300V is double ester whereas Motul 7100 is only single ester and performance of Motul 7100 is similar to Motul 5100 even though the later is semi-synthetic. So depending on price if 300V is not much expensive then that should be the choice and if 5100 is much cheaper then use it.

            Nope, 3000 4T is around 200rs a Ltr! 5100 is around 380rs, 7100 is aroun 650 and 300V is around 750-850rs!

Yes, "Cherry Agencies" near Lalbagh. Also there are couple of other outlets in the same area who stock Motul.

i know brother. I said in my post that 300V is the best bet. though performance of 7100 is similar to 5100 but it will last longer than 5100.

                          • hi everyone....please help me regarding engine oil
its cbz xtrmem driven 4600kms.....i live in Bangladesh so i dont have lot of choices in case of engine oils. HH recommends 10W30 grade engine oil for cbz xtreme & there is only one engine oil available in this grade ( caltex havoline 10w30). in case of 20W40 lots of choices are available. i alwways use 10W30 caltex oil but not satisfied, i mean it does its job but nothing special. after 2days castrol power 1 is going to be available as said by the castrol dealer.
My question is what would be its grade.....as far as i know its gonna be 15W40(assuming). i'm very excited about it as its semy synth & definitely its gonna be better than the caltex. can i use this oil on cbz xtreme??? please help me guys HURRY!!!! because i'm going for a total 500km trip after 5days and i have decided to buy 2bottle of power1 unless you people say otherwise

                            thanks

Over a period of 4 months: tried 20w40 in my friends Xtreme, didn't feel any difference except that the engine became smooth. This was the perception I'd been carrying until I reverted the grade to 10w30 again and I noticed an instant change - immediate release of power from the bike, very free revving engine. changed the grade to 10w40 shell advance semi-synthetic, honestly not that satisfied, not revving as freely as it would with 10w30.
                              10w30 - ideal
20w40 - appears smooth because engine does not rev freely; loss of power
10w40 - again loss of power
I suggest you stick to 10w30 only. Try Power 1 in summers.

                              my comprehension
If you change from 10w30 to 20w40 or 10w40; you won't be able to notice immediate performance loss because the engine makes less noise and you will be clouded by that feeling. Its only when you revert back to 10w30 you'll notice how the engine frees up and releases more power.

i agree with you 100%. once i used gulf 20W40 felt smooth but didnt rev freely so after running it for 300kms i changed it to 10W30 & yes as you said it was an immediate change.revs freely and also engine note remains grunty. thats why iwas confused for power1, you know nothing else iss available. well the good news is that today i changed to power1 & the grade was 10W30( i thought 15W40 would come) infact i am the first one to use castrol power1 officially(from the dealer) in Bangladesh. The effect was
vibrations in the upper range ( above 7K) seems to have reduced & pick up is just awesome revs like crazy till 9500rpm
                                thanks buddy for your reply
