    • hello guyz..
I hav new pulsar 180..Im about to send it to its first servicing..As I know SC use same castol oil (from barrel) for every bike Im planning to buy my own Engine Oil...
As I hav been through many pages of this thread telling to use mineral oil for first serviceing I think Ill pour motul 3000 mineral oil...then Im planning to use motul 5100 semi-sen for second servicing after that I ll switch to fully sen motul..
      What do u think?
and please tell me where can I get a ltr can of this Motul 3000 4t 15W50 in PUNE?

Stick to the oil that SC provides, atleast for the first service.Becuz, you will not be ripping your bike anyways untill 2000KM so any expensive oil doesnot makes sense during run-in.
Pour in SC oil but check they are using right grade of oil or not. (20W50)
In my case they were pouring 20W40 instead of 20W50 oil. and i came to know that only in my 3rd service.

Hi abhi..Its been a long time
The guys at SC pour something from Castrol barrel int every vehicle (from platina to 220)...Even SC guys dont hav idea about the grade they are using...Now tell me is it okay to go blindly for that unknown castrol oil which gonna cost me 180Rs. or to buy a can of motul 3000rt mineral oil which comes at the SAME price?????????????????????????????

                I too missed you!!
If Motul costs same or 10-20rs more than go for Motul.

                OR

Tell the SC guys to change the oil in front of you(when you visit SC for taking back your bike after servicing.).This way you would know that they have poured pure oil.The bajaj SC either use 20W40 or 20W50 oil, no other oil than that.(This method i am following till now, but at next service i will not as they put 20W40 oil.)

+1 Go for motul 300v 5w40. I use Castrol Power 1 Racing 10w40 for my ZMA-R. Costs Rs.700 in Mumbai for 1ltr.. Not able to get Motul in 40 grade. Anyway Power 1 Racing is doing very well. This is my second bottle and have already done 2k on it. Still going like new. Already got a third bottle . Will change when current oil starts to degrade but I suspect that may be some time, maybe 4k. Lets see.

Unfortunately this is happening more often than we'd like it to. Not just Bajaj SC's but just any company. They get any oil they get cheap and use that. Guys, please be watchful at your service. Especially those not in Cities.

                    • i have zma-r and zmr...... the owner manual says that oil shoould be replaced every 6000 km......and top up 2500 km......

but i think replacing oil every 2500 km is way better as it will keep engine more new......

so wat should i do....change it every 6000 km or 2500 km.

It all depends on the Oil which you use
If you use an Mineral Oil - change it every 2500 - 3000KMS
If you use an Synthetic Oil change it somewhere around 5000 - 6000Kms - make sure to Top Up each and every 2000Kms of Run.....

But to stop confussions - change the oil each and every 3000Kms....

                          • One of my friend just discovered that the guys at Sai service were putting 20w40 in his P180 for the past 2 years. I have advised him to switch to 20w50 asap but now he is really worried as to whether this might have an impact on the engine and performance. any opinion guys?

                              • Which one of these would be best for p180UG3 (odo 14k)

                                Castrol Activ extra 20w50
                                Valvoline Premium 4t 20w50
                                Motul 5100 4t 15w50
                                Motul 300v 15w50
                                Gulf pride 4t 20w50
                                Veedol Turbostar 20w50
                                Mak 4t Plus 20w50
                                Mak 4t Excel 20w50
                                Petronas Sprint 4t

Good Performance is very much required but not at the cost of burning a hole in pocket.
Any suggestions on the best oil?
