what happens if
1. I add Gear oil to engine oil ?
My friend has got a Kinetic King Moped and his engine oil was really black and muddy and about to be replaced with a new 4-stroke engine oil. Meanwhile I found an old Diesel Engine Oil 1 litre can and Gear Oil in his shop. I mixed 1 litre of Diesel oil and 500 ml of Gear Oil(my idea was Gear oil compensates the thickness of Diesel Oil) and filled his engine with this mixture. The moment we put in the new mixture of oil, we noticed an "amazing" improvement in the smoothness and acceleration.
Is it safe? And for how long? 500kms?
Can it be used as a flush?(heard that Gear oil contains detergents which help clean dirt etc)
2. Add DOT 3 or DOT 4 fluid to engine oil and run for 10~20 kms before an Oil change? Or is it too dangerous?

Hey guyz
Cn nebody tell me where i can buy full synthtetic 2T (not 4T) oil in delhi/ncr region
Petronas 5000 or motul or any other brand
urgent ! !The Automotive batteries are designed to work best in a typical short start-stop fashion.
So to increase the life of your automobile battery, blow the horn and flash the pass light in a quick start stop fashion instead of a conitnuous long horn blow or flash light continuous on!!
And obviously don't stretch the self start far too long.

Hi, Is it advisable to shift to full synthetic oil at 5000 kms odo ??
I've been running on mineral oils all this time..
I'm really tempted to try out petronas sprinta 5000 since its very cheap
and what is the drain interval if i use petronas FS oil ??
also, Does the engine run hotter with this oil ? (i think i read it somewhere in this thread)
I'm a noob when it comes to bike oils so can you tell the procedure for shifting to that oil ?
Do i have to flush the engine so the old oil is completely drained or anything ?
(because otherwise the old 20w40 oil will mix with the FS one, not sure if it'll cause problems).
And in future if want to come back to mineral will it be fine or would i have to flush the engine ?
Right now i'm either considering petronas(FS) or shell semi synthetic ? which would be better considering my bike hasnt run much till now.

disel oil is 15w40 or 20w40,now u added gear oil which is more thicker is either w80 or w 90 and made the oil even thicker.wow.i am amazed the bike will feel smooth but the components will be in high pressure as wellas the pump as its pushing very high viscosity of oil.
dot 3 dot 4 bad idea,it can harm the engine liners as wellas the plastic parts.
use normal flush instead.
or u can use a low viscosity oil to flush.
change the setup or soon it wiil be history.sigpic

Thank you for the reply.
Got this from wiki "API viscosity ratings for gear oils are not directly comparable with those for motor oil, and they are thinner than the figures suggest. For example, many modern gearboxes use a 75W90 gear oil, which is actually of equivalent viscosity to a 10W40 motor oil."
