    • Bike went for service this friday. Changed oil to Motul 300v fully synthetic 15W50. Oh Boy!! feels simply great. Engine revs smoothly in all the gears. I am enjoying biking even more after this.

      • @Kalsi....could you please let me know what is your bike? What is its recommended grade oil?
Earlier what oil(both grade and type of oil like mineral/ss/fs and company name) you have used?
What are the areas in which the bike has improved from earlier?

        Regards,
        nag.

I have a Pulsar 180 UG3. Recommended grade is 20w50. Have previously used only usual Castrol Active filled in by service guys. They use normal mineral oil.
Areas of improvements are smoother engine, more free revving, pickup slightly improved. Only grouse is that gear shifting has not improved much.

                  • Urgent requesting help

The Amaron retailer selling lubricants sold me this Castrol CRB for my RX engine oil. I'm little skeptical using this as it says, its for Diesel engine & no where 2 stroke is mentioned. Can I use this on my RX for engine oil? Not for premix or mixing with petrol.

I cross verified with another lubricants dealer & he was trying to sell Helix that also mentioned that it was Diesel engine oil (Same as Castrol CRB)

However both of them are 20W-40. Can someone pls help me on this? I'm planning to change my engine oil this afternoon. Thanks.

                      @ Aargee

It clearly says Diesel engine and for LCV vehicles so don't use it

some retailers never says No instead they will make you suffer by providing some other product that looks similar
                      just return it

grade for 2-stroke API TC don't know their availability
the one you specified oil grade is API CR-4 clearly for diesel ones
i think due to non availability or any thing these diesel oils are specified to u and others also.

                        • How to identify petrol or diesel engine oil grades

Every lubricant has some viscosity grade starting with API. If it starts with "S" then its a petrol engine oil anf if starts with "C" THEN ITS DIESEL ENGINE OIL. For example an engine oil has API-SG/SJ/SL/SM ETC... THEN IT IS PETROL ENGINE OIL. API CC/CD/CF/CF4/CH4/CJ4/CI4 ETC... ALL ARE DIESEL ENGINE OIL.

                            • Open Motul 5100 available

Tell me if anyone is interested in an opened Motul 5100 SS.

I recently changed to Motul 5100 and got two cans for the same for my 220. I have one can left with slightly more than 700ml of oil left in it.

Current price for a 1000ml can of Motul 5100 is Rs 450.

If anyone is interested in the oil, you can take it from me at 250Rs which is lesser than the cost of 600ml of oil.

It could be useful for people who use 'sometimes-not-readily-available' Motul 5100 as their default oil.

                              Venue is Pune..!
