I changed my bike's oil for the very first time to Motul 20W50 in my Suzuki GS150R since the motul representative suggested 20W50 during winters. Now that its time for a topup and its scorching summer, does someone recommend me something other than Motul for my bike or Motul 20W40 is Ok?

And then I had used Mineral oil, should I now use Synthetic or Mineral? Bike has reached 3.5K !

Seems like you got it reversed. I this case, it should be thicker oil (w50) for summer and thinner oil (w40) for winter. So my suggestion is to stick to Motul 20w50 for summer and Motul 20w40 for winter. Stick to mineral for some more time, say up to 6k.

Btw what is the factory recommended grade for your ride?

Hey guys has anyone tried Shell Advance Ultra ? My bike is actually new, has done just around 1200km till now, so shud i go for a change in the oil in the second servicing ? or is it better to wait for few more kms..

Its recommended to change early the first time. Did mine at 500kms. After that you can stick to regular interval like 2,3,4k depending of the type of oil you are using.

No. Cars oil has friction modifiers. Use oil for motorcycle only.

Guys how to identify that the oil is original or fake one? I can get motul oil here but i doubt its originality. Also any other suggestions for my ride.? It is a Pulsar 150 and the rating is 20w40. Looking for a mineral oil below 300 INR.

Hey all, how is Castrol power1 15w50 (semi - synthetic) for unicorn dazzler?

Try out Shell Adv VSX i own dazzler and i am useing it and i think will stick to this one its been almost 5000 kms since last oil change and there is no change in performance it is as it was when i switch to shell Totall rev free.. i can feel that the bike goes to higher rpm very quickly and heat is no problem...

yeah i used it for my Kinetic Nova good oil.. all though i ride it less and i had used it for almost 3 years before switching to honda unicorn.. indeed it is a good oil

Stick to company recommended,15w 50 is not good for unicorn/dazzler

Stick to company recommended grade/brand & change it regularly before drain period. You are still in break-in period, switching to different brands & grades of engine oils will void your warranty..its better to believe in recommended oil for atleast 10,000kms..

valvoline is a good oil which costs 300. but it is semi synthetic.

Ya but the rating is 20w50. My previous oil was valvoline mineral 20w40 which is a very good oil. But i am going to try some others this time.

Currently i use Castrol Activ oil in it but wanted to know should i continue using it or change it ?

How many kms your bike has run after pouring castrol ? If it is more than 2000 kms then yeah you have to change.

For pulsar 150 You can use ELF moto 4 gold, valvoline champ mineral, Motul 3000 plus and gulf pride 4t. All are 20w40 and costs in the range of 200rs.

What if i use Castrol Power 1?
Also my bike has completed total 26500 KMS.
Right from the beginning i have been using Castrol Active or Castrol Power 1.
After every 2000 Kms i change the oil.
