Why not SMK or Axor? Can you please explain? I'm looking to upgrade my Vega off-road helmet. I'm confused by the number of options. My budget is 4k

Why don't you take a look at the MT snake carbon fiber helmet. As you can understand, being a CF helmet it's super light and super rigid though will be a bit of a pocket pinch.

Are there non Studds/Steelbird/Vega helmets which weigh about 1 KG or less than 1 KG? Any imported brands that I can look at.

I felt shifter better, except the chin curtain on thunder is a good addition.

Can you please suggest a good full face helmet which is 1Kg or less than 1 Kg. It should offer good full face protection. It need not have vents for air flow and my primary requirements are light weight and very good full face protection.

Can you please suggest some models that I can buy?

I always wear a head scarf or a balaclava and have no problems with my ears. Since the cloth/material are bit smooth, the helmet just slides down over my ears.

I wear prescription glasses as well and feel the ear pinching pain during long rides. On 500+km rides it becomes unbearable. :-(

I remember seeing a DIY/hack sort of video on YouTube a few days back where someone suggested using rubber bands to create a channel for the eye glasses' stems on both sides. I'll try it out this weekend and see if something like that helps with the pain.
Interesting, let me try the hack too! [emoji41]

If I reach in and straighten my ears, they start hurting coz there is not much space and they start pinching against the edges. The shape of the inner part of helmet is such that there is not much space for ears. I thought after 2 years, it would have gone away but not so. The only solution I have found is to remove the helmet once an hour while on long rides and massage the ears.
    Btw, I wear spectacles too.
Any solution would be helpful since the helmet is very good, apart from high wind noise above 100 kmph

True that but i do not feel the pain while on long rides. It could be because my concentration is on riding. I wore a balaclava once and then the pain was just unbearable even while riding. Gotta look for a solution[emoji41].

The helmet arrived it was a perfect snug fit. When riding with helmet on i didnt face a single problem but the problem is when i am at a standstill for more than 15-20 mins, i start get a tingly feels near my ear and later they start paining. I thought that i might not be accustomed to the helmet but after using the helmet for more than a year it is the same. Do you have faced similar problem. If so do you have a solution.

Hello V12, The only problem I faced is with wearing the helmet for about 45mins+ and the top corner of my head hurts, though I think it's because of the shape of my head. None faced with ears.

Have you cleaned the inner linings after you have picked the helmet? If you have been using it very regularly, it could be small bugs or insects causing the trouble if the linings are sweaty or dirty.

Else, do you wear thick framed specs or changed specs recently? If the tingly feeling is above your ears, then it could be that the specs haven't settled in the helmet properly and hence is pushing into your head and hence the uncomfortable feeling.

If above aren't the causes, then incase you face the same issue again while wearing the helmet, remove your specs, adjust the helmet while moving it left right down up and see if you feel it sitting well on one position and try keeping it there. I wear specs too and this helps most of the time.

    Re: Helmets

That's a big price difference :-) . I think the Revenge has the highest safety ratings and I love it (except for the 3 level visor adjustments). And I'm not sure if there's any place that'll allow you to try them on a ride before purchasing.

Else, go for either and just use cotton in your ears to reduce the wind noise (jugaad).
