After using the MT Blade 1st gen which i had bought for 5800/-(Now it shockingly costs 8000/-) has served me for 4 1/2 years for my everyday riding. The experience was a mixed bag in terms of usability (In terms of Safety it has saved my head)
1. The quality is decent not too bad, but isn't great.
2. The helmet makes a racket once you go past 75kmph, I had to use ear plugs to negate the noise to a certain extent.
3. I've been hearing about the sun visor dropping down on it's own but i haven't had that problem.
4. After 90kmph the helmet flutters like a plane in a turbulent weather.
Conclusion:For the price i bought it, it is actually a good helmet, don't know if it is worth 8000/- now.

Back to my query, i was looking at the Fly Racing Revolt F-S and the HJC CL-17 both are Snell M2015 rated, not ECE rated. Both the helmets have good reviews but I am inclining towards the Fly Racing because it has a Dual Density EPS liner and you get a smoked visor in addition to the clear visor! The graphics are also great! The HJC has a brand name to boast about(positive). Which would you pick?

I have a Snell rated HJC but haven't used in last 1 year since I got the AGV K3 SV.

The Snell rated always sounds the safest but they are the heaviest too.
I have some neck pain issue due to using computers from last 2 decades from long gaming hours, always sitting in bad posture (even now) & these heavy helmets.
But this pain was bearable with LS2 (have used it for 4 years day, night, winter, rain). That neck pain escalated when I started using HJC for daily commute. I had to buy AGV for daily commute and now I am living happily.

Please do some research for the Snell rated thing for daily usage before buying. While it says 1500grams, I do not agree with the weight and weight management on Snell rated helmets.


P.S. : I'm also looking for a light weight helmet for daily usage. If not light weight a new helmet, but MT's doesn't make sense for 8-9k price.

I need to buy a Good Quality Helmet soon (Good Quality, Respectable Brand, Full Face, Ventilated, Budget is around Rs 6000/-)
Any thoughts on this helmet?

With a budget like Rs6000, you can buy great LS2 helmets. There is a model called LS2 FF352 which costs around Rs4500 i guess. That was my first helmet ever and it still is a solid one.

Thanks for the info mate. flagship models also coming from China gives some credibility to other models from the brand, i guess.

Didn't know you were talking about an accident happening on a race track, i though it happened on the road where variety of factors are there. Cracking open up of a helmet is a serious issue, maybe there was a past impact on he helmet which resulted in hairline Crack or something else, until and unless a scientific research in done nothing can be said.
I recently bought MT snake carbon helmet for 19k, it is made up of carbon fiber, although MT is a Spanish company but still the helmet is made in China, i expected the premium range to be manufactured in Spain but it's the same, china and china and china!!

I was just wondering,being in a racetrack,there would not have been any kerb or stone to hit.i remember reading he highsided and the images still available in the forum show huge abrasion marks.its ok if the shell has a crack or crumples at the impact spot.(a search of cracked race helmet or motorcycle helmet cracking in the Google will show you what i mean).but this helmet was split open...and that too on an R15.so was just curious..am not here to tarnish any brand or choice.just seeking answers from experts.

Well helmet cracking open can happen with any helmet if the speed is enough and the impact is directly on the helmet. Until and unless we have all the information we can't be actually sure what exactly happened in that case. Mt helmets have a good quality, ratings are good as well, but no manufacturer guarantees anything

My comment is too late, I guess. Returning to xbhp after a long time. Still if anyone finds it of use... SMK Stellar is an awesome helmet for its price. It's rock steady even at speeds over 145 kmh. Regarding noise, can't say that it's too loud. I have an HJC CL17 and have used MT Axxis. The noise is there in the SMK, but it's not much worse than HJC or MT Axxis. The interior of the helmet is not upto the standard of MT and the whole SMK model range lacks a double d ring.

On another note, I have wanted to ask this question for some time: SMK helmets are made in India and exported, correct me if I'm wrong. However, regarding MT helmets, are we getting the same models which are being sold in UK (sharp rated)? Are all MT helmets made in China? What about that incident of an MT helmet cracking open and a racer dying in Chennai, a few years ago? Any updates as to how that happened?

Anyone else using smk stellar. Review would be useful. Tried axor apex. Windnoise from 35kmph onwards. That's off the list.

I am in love with my Bell Qualifier helmet, which I bought recently for 9k . It is the solid matte variant, which looks very cool. Everyone in my circle is impressed (and a little envious, I think). The helmet is rated highly for protection in case of accidents and falls, meeting all Indian and foreign safety standard ratings - so I got a truly world class helmet for the price I paid.

I have the Revenge... While everything is excellent, the only piece I didn't like is the 3 level adjustment for the visors. I now prefer atleast 5 levels adjustments after picking up more Kms of riding experience.

Looking for recommendations between Bell Qualifier or MT Revenge.. (₹9000 Range).
Have tried MT Revenge twice for a short ride and there was very little to complain wrt noise till around speed of 90.It felt rock solid.

It's a very very good helmet. The carbon finish is awesome too. Have used this a lot. The only issue is the helmet buffets a bit above 130 kph. Otherwise it's damn good and comfy. The paddings scream quality n comfort. I have a 323 arrow carbon too. Compared to snake carbon that screams like a banshee but the helmet stays pretty solid even at 160 kph. Safety wise both are similar. Though not a fan of the wide red patch in snake.

My main concern after buying continental GT was safety as i was sure I would be riding in higher speeds after getting the bike, so instead of getting a new phone which was long overdue(oneplus 3 keep keep going on please) i spent the money on riding gear and got the best helmet in my budget.

The fit finish and quality of the helmet are excellent, no issues there. Regarding wobbling of the helmet , I haven't gone above 100 using it so it's yet to be tested. But i don't plan on riding above 100-110, i don't trust Indians and our highways, very unpredictable and unsafe.

How quiet is it and at what speeds does it get noisy? I have a MT Blade and that things makes a racket over 80kmph!

I haven't tested it properly yet on highways, still waiting for royal enfield to organize a ride, but in city conditions I haven't faced noise issues

I am looking for good helmet for the price range around 5k. I have analysed and finalized with the four brands i.e AXor , MT ,SMK ,LS2.
I will be using for city commute and occasional touring.


Please suggest me one good helmet ?

I have ridden at 140 kph and helmet was relatively silent compared to my arrow. But it shakes a lot post 120-130. That's the main worry
