I wonder how the brand Vega is? i am aiming at that red eye one helmet, viper eye.

Also i would suggest you to change the helmet cz 4 years is a lot, the mould inside can change shape along with deformed cheek pads. Snug fit would be missing.

LS2 are perfect and light too...Desperately eyeing the G Pump for cheek pads one.

No issues my friend, this community is meant for discussions.everyone has a right to know about products which are available in the markets,I have already complained to cross company a few months back about their website, the reply I had got was that they are facing legal issues with the website developer and their contract with them is till mid 2012,only after which a fully developed website will be put up,
If anyone is having any doubts regarding the quality one can always approach the bureau of standardisation and get it checked

Thanks...had already checked out the Scala headsets. Was looking for something cheaper. All I want is to communicate with my pillion, no extra features required.

              Hi Guys,

I read many guys vouching about the quality of cross helmets. I am also using cross helmets since last 2 years. I don't have any complaints. But I am unsure if they are good enough to protect your good. Is the ECE certification really valid? are they faking it. They've been in the market since last few years. They don't even have a website! I doubt if cross is good enough.

                • Hello everyone. First of all, I wish to tell you people that I have successfully ruined 2 of my 2k-ish costing helmets in the last 2.3 years of my motorcycling.

                  Now the query:
I need a new helmet which will last more than 365 days of daily usage without getting ruined.
                  1. My Budget is 4k(+/- 10%)
                  2. My priority is wind noise protection. There is too much wind noise from my existing helmets.
                  3. My in ear earphones should fit in without causing discomfort.
                  4. It should be adequately light so as to not cause a neck pain.
                  5. I heard about some helmets which come with some air pump thingie which helps tighten the thing on your head so it doesn't move in the wind.. I would like to have that if possible in the aforementioned budget.
                  6. Other general things that people check about helmets (which I do not know) apply automatically.

Anybody who feels like helping me out, please tell me about / accompany me to a good helmet shop in Pune where I can find such helmet.
I am a total noob about helmets and need guidance.

                  Thank you
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Overall, I think LS2 could be your best bet. (Not sure about the earphones thing though). If you are ready to wait for a few days, SOL dealership is supposed to start up in Pune next month, you can then get a SL48s in that budget (You can get it even now if you are ready for ordering online)..

Further, the air pump thing you mentioned is that in one of the LS2 models.

                          4. It should be adequately light so as to not cause a neck pain.- Although mine is DOT certified LS2 and its quite heavy for long rides, but I have found the new ISI marked LS2s lighter than others

                          • Guys currently use a Vega Motocross & quite comfortable with that but riding at night with the open visor is a problem otherwise its good for me. I heard a lot about LS2 now even I want one for night time (more or less every time).
                            My questions are:
                            1. which models are available in the LS2 series? (for eg. phobia etc)
                            2. which one among the LS2 series is the best (or I should say better at my budget i.e, Rs 3500)?
                            3. can I get a clear visor as I have seen them in tinted visors?

First motocross are not that safe if compared to full face.
                                1. Just like others its difficult to mention all the models here, but you can look here for reference (Click Here!!).
2.Almost all the LS2 helmets available in India fall in this range minus the flip-up range.
                                3. Yes you can get clear visor too
