Well i have no clue what else is provided with the helmet. Will check and let you know. And no dark visor. But then you are tempting me to get one. Need to think about it.

i asked my query before tooo ...but i got suggested with studds bravo & rhyno ........
i just need more suggestion with best graphic , protection & comfort ... withing 1500 range ................... somebody suggest the best in helmet for 1500

by the way what is a VFM ? i have seen everyone using it throughout the fourm but i cant understand what it stands for !!!!!!!

Sol sol48s

Tried the SOL SL48s - size L. Appeared a 'touch' tight as compared to the > 2 year old Cross which I have been using. Have ordered a white and blue. Should I stick to L or move to XL? (There was no XL at the store to try).

Further, will there be a VAT markup on the prices mentioned on the SOL india website? That is what the local dealer here told me, which I seriously doubt..

Teejayy, I am also interested in SL48s, but can't try one because I am in cochin. I had sent a mail to Spartan progear regarding sizing options. What they told was to measure using a tape above your eyebrow and see the corresponding size in the size chart which is available in the site.
I am currently using a Vega Interstellar but I am not sure about its size!
Need to find a way to select the correct size as I don't want to order the wrong size.
By the way, I am looking for Red and White. My current helmet looks odd with my R15 Limited Edition. It used to match my blue Pulsars...

No idea as to how much it actually weighs....But I can say that there cannot be a better choice at that price point..The padding, ventilation, overall finish is just superb..Look no further and stick to SOL..

With regards to size, go by the helmet size chart on the site. Comparing it with the size of other brands (Vega in your case) would not help since manufacturers follow their own standards for sizing. AFAIK they only have L and XL for SL48. I would suggest to order as soon as possible since they are running out of stock and the next shipment is to be received only in the 2nd half of the next month..

You've been suggested those helmets because that's what you can get for that budget! If you want something better, you will need to revise your budget......

Mithun - It is a tad tricky to change the visor on a SparX - it would seem like the visor would break anytime. Got to use the right amount of force to yank the visor off the ratchet. I would recommend you take it to the helmet store and have them do it. (in case it breaks, they will be liable to replace it)

But I went ahead and removed it .Put in the black visor that came free with the helmet.

was looking for my budget 1500 .... hence the seller quoted "Rs.2000"
Damn had a great bargain I think and got it for """ RS .1600 "" .....
only thing is its air intlets have triggers such to open/close as the rider wishes
well this is my first helmet hence i cant tell its quality and comparision so...
any other owners please tooo comment ... well its packed with nice pads well its bit tight was said it will get perfectly git after some use ...

hi everyone,

recently i have bought a hjc rps-1o monster benspies replica helmet from RIDERS DISCOUNT

initially i planned to pickup a sparx s07 helmet but my budget got stretched and got this one.

it took nearly 45 days to reach my place(was with customs office for a month).paid a duty of 4k.riders discount guys were very much friendly in responding to the mails and very proffesional.

the helmet is very much light when compared to the ls2 dragon which i used to have previously.paint finish is excellent and not to mention that i am sold for graphics .

havent used the helmet extensively it.will post a complete review of it after some days

Purchasing helemets online - Query - Please help

Hi Friends,

I was planning to purchase a new helmet to eventually replace my CROSS helmet. I prefer a DOT/SNELL Certified helmet (althought it might stretch my budget a lot) . I was wondering how reliable and safe it would be to order one from an US based online store. I am sure many of you guys have done that. However, information in the thread is not enough to take a solid decision. Can any of you guys who have experience in ordering helmets from US based online stores help me out?

1. Which would be the most reliable online store to purchase a helmet from
2. How would be the mode of payment
3. What are the customs formalities
4. How is the customs duty calculated
5. How many days would be the the usual delivery time
6. Which brands can i choose from (less than INR 10K including shipping)
7. Are the customer care of these online stores reliable.
8. What could be the usually shipping charges
9. Since custom duty is determined later how can we pay the company and whom do we pay the custom duty to?
10. Is there any chance of getting the same lids in any Indian store with similar or slightly higher price
