Personally LS2 and SOL more or less of same quality, with SOL offering attractive decals which are appealing to a broad range of bikers. LS2 on the other hand offers oodles of different helmets at different price points. But chances are you will see more LS2 helmets out there, which indicates it's pretty much affordable and very appealing.

But both helmets are really good ones, for the price to value proposition.

you seem to have had a taste of both. i am planning to get a helmet for myself, could you please tell me in the ways the SOL scores over the LS2 and the vice versa.
          Your helmet looks killer though

          Thanks
          Thanks for the compliments buddy

          Ya sure.. here's the comparison:

Fit: SOL has a more snug fit than the LS2, it does not even move a centimeter when riding and it is very comfortable in the ear region too. The ears don't feel cramped or anything, also for the riders wearing spectacles its comfortable.

Shape: The shape is pretty aggressive than the LS2 ones(which you could see in the pics itself).

Ventilation: As compared to LS2, SOL offers good ventilation thru the top vents. There is minimal whistling sound too, as compared to the LS2.. which is a whistling machine

Visor: The only drawback which SOL has is the tinted visor(mercury finish), as it offers very low visibility in the night as compared to the LS2 ones. Though you can always go in for the clear visors.

Lock mechanism: SOL has a double D-ring lock mechanism as compared to the old style buckle set up in LS2. This D-ring setup is more secure.

          Hope this helps..

But first off, you shouldn't have tried using the dark visor in "DARK" and you're even suggesting the visibility is good. I hope you used it just for testing purposes, but, I'd strongly suggest you refrain from such activities purely for you and your ride and others' sake.

But, thanks for the update too..

@Inder - SOL does not ship with Iridium visors. Clear only. The easiest way to identify a fake ECE/DOT helmet is if it has a non-clear visor. It was probably swapped at the dealer to make it look cool! Ask him!

The single most important USP after the genuine DOT certification IMO is the fit. It is the only international brand sold in India at this price point with three different shell sizes and five different head sizes. You can measure your crown size and match to the helmet sizing chart for primary fit and then if necessary adjust the cheek pads for secondary fit. This will ensure the snuggest fit possible. Almost every other brand will sell only one L or XL size and then try to adjust the fit with sponge fillers.

The most important fit of a helmet is the crown fit, whereas most dealers will dupe customers with extra padding in the cheeks to get the secondary fit, completely ignoring the crown.

I took the tinted visor as an extra visor along with the clear one, But, on my recent trip was using the tinted one.
                          Hence I wrote about that.

Indeed true! and a distinguishing factor between SOL and other helmets.

The crown fir is just perfect for me, no issues with that. And I guess SOL does not have different cheek pad sizez but rather they have individual crown size helmets.

Also, could you confirm when would the "Black Smoked visors" be available in stock. Been waiting it for sometime now

It's nice to see VEGA have really made the DOT marking a standard on these helmets, especially at that price point. Quality wise, only a reported user can give a detailed review or the one who has seen them in person.

                            Cheers!
