Steelbird is a good helmet too, but Studds Ninja 3G is an excellent helmet and now their new launch Studds Downtown is based on the same platform from what I happen to examine, but with just a slightly modded design.

Steelbird or Studds, both are good, but I'd suggest Studds Ninja.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

    THE END

        Good choice made brother.
In our city sporting a half face helmet will be such a worse.
I am going to buy LS2 386 modular.
        You must look for it.
Nice features, ECE standard and also fits for your pocket.
I think priya motors from thane sells original LS2.

Some posts ago, there was a small war of words about expensive/ overseas "branded" helmets aka Arai, Shoei etc vs our own desi ones like Steelbird, Vega etc.

Well, I am a regular reader of RideApart and have learned a great deal from some of the articles posted on this light-hearted, amusing but at athe same time, highly educative motorcycle site. A casual read will reveal the complete USA-spec material, articles and responses to them. Yet, we in India can learn too aside from viewing nice bike images.

This are two very good articles which relate to the so-to-say "helmet wars" I mentioned earlier.

Leaked docs show Motorcyclist caved to advertiser pressure, fired editor | RideApart and the response by Arai to this article

A statement from Arai regarding Dexter Ford's dismissal | RideApart

Do read them, they are illuminating.

That was a very interesting read.
Its true that companies threaten editors, mags and newspapers that they will withdraw advertising if articles that go against them are printed. Advertisements are a major source of income for mags and newspapers.

The visor of my SparX helmet broke; just the plastic hinges actually, but it's still practically useless now. Where can I get a replacement visor?

The visor for Sparx is difficult to get. I had to wait for 3 months before getting one. In Delhi you will get it for 900 bucks, PRS sells it for 1250 + 250 for shipping, revzilla would get it to your doorsteps for 1500 plus shipping.

I am able to procure the Dark Smoke visor from here, and not the Clear one. How will it fare when I'm riding at night? Will I be able to see the road and oncoming vehicles clearly? I've heard that tinted visors can be a PITA at night, but don't know much about this Dark Smoke kind.

You should be able to procure it at cheaper rate from bikegear.in although I don't know how authentic they are...

I have been told that some of the LS2 models share similar visors as well so you can check locally...

Coming to question of using Tinted Visor in night, it all depends upon you for e.g. personally I ride with mercury / tinted visor all the time all my helmets have them (except for rainy season) as at night light coming from oncoming traffic is not bearable for me but saying that it's ME you maybe ok with it... so I would suggest try it on and then decide...

a simple suggestion.when buying the shades do try them with your helmet on.it is a snug fit.also metal ones unless strong and thick can get bent(it is their property) easily at different parts.Reebok aviator glasses that I had got bent.not grossly;it is correctable easy.so try getting thicker plastic ones like those by fast track for example.

While I would not recommend that you wear shades inside your helmet - if you do feel compelled to, this is what I would recommend - https://www.oakleysi.com/Product_Det...m?id=97&pid=14

Pricey, but by far the most comfortable and safe pair of glasses that you will ever wear. I started using them about 10 years ago, and have bought new ones in different coloured lenses over the years but still have and use my first pair. The ear stem design allows you to wear them easily even with a balaclava on.

You can use a clear helmet visor which is UV coated to help prevent sunburn and a pair of these glasses for bright daytime riding or alternatively, if you ride predominantly during the day like me, use a tinted/smoked visor and carry a pair of these with clear lenses to ride at night with the visor open. I prefer the second option as my night riding is very limited due to safety concerns.

Although you have oodles of high end to highway side folks selling glasses. I for one use both tinted visor and a glass. I wear spec stoo, and I hate to say I hate my specs purely because it's nothing but a hindrance in my rides. And no a visor doesn't concentrate. First off you need to know how the glass works, most tinted visors, reflect both UV and Infrared pretty well. And have you ever felt riding with a clear visor with sun grinning all the way at you like -- karma revolves back attitude. My face almost always gets red and at night you can see dried and chapped skin that's not UV that's infrared rays. Most visors do reduce UV radiation as most harmful are already filtered by our good old ozone.

A good tinted visor is a very helpful guy in sunny rides, keeps you cool, keeps your face protected, most of all, it reduces eye strain 100% at least in my case. Wearing specs under the tinted is a good idea too. That's how I do because I hate to carry specs, sun glasses and a tinted visor. Yes I do ride with specs and a clear visor but when I go highway munching sun glasses goes to the backburn and in comes the tinted visor and my spec.

                                Cheers!
