I own a Sol SF1 Acme red which is bought from your experience center in Akkarai.
I am in a sales role and spend more than 6 hours a day driving wearing this helmet.
Since it weighs almost 1819 gm, i am looking for an affordable full face helmet considerably lighter than This.
I know that sl68s is around 1600 gm
however i am having a tough time finding out the weight of all sol helmets to compare
hence it would be of great help to all of us if you could list weight of all sol helmets.

It's really impossible to measure all the entire range of helmets in SOL range and give you the specs. If you look closely at the back of the helmet where the DOT sticker is, you can clearly see, it has something like 1250GM +- that is the actual weight of the helmet, and an approximate value.

There are lots of affordable helmets which weigh less than SOL in your case, like Steelbird and Vega real light-weight helmets, and offer good protection. First thing is, when you buy a helmet, make sure you wear the helmet for fit, comfort, and overall satisfaction and then purchase a helmet, because if you just go purchase a helmet going by photos and details, you're in for a disappointment.

Remember, riding gear is about what makes you feel comfortable and safe, just one of the two is not a good recipe, have both and you're one happy guy.

Many riders who are using a genuine DOT spec helmet for the first time feel they are heavier because they are used to using helmets which do not conform to any standards. That said, the SF1 is a touring helmet and because of the internal visor and LEDs along with the venting system, is the heaviest helmet in the entire range.

That isn't a mandate for DOT spec helmets, so you will not find it on the SOL's either which are DOT certified. Only ECE helmets have this requirement.

I disagree with this - just "feeling" comfortable and safe is not a qualification or certification of a product's crash-worthiness. You yourself have many times commented about products bought by members as being unsuitable because you felt that they were not crash-worthy or able to provide sufficient protection. I think it would be better that members educate themselves on the available products, their safety certifications and then make up their minds. We need to move away from hearsay and what we "feel" is right towards what we "know" is right.

Agree to your point, I should have said ECE, but I just didn't want to confuse him stating ECE instead of DOT, goodwill if you ask me. But to your point, yes you're absolutely right, there isn't really a mandate/need to state the weight.

Second one, there are lots of people who wear a helmet just based upon their old size and then opt, and buy just by seeing elsewhere in web right. I mean please don't say to me you didn't have a single customer purchasing SOL helmet without testing it from the shop.

Third point. You're wrong. That doesn't mean everyone can afford high-spec gear with both. Take for example, an average, Joe, all he wants is protection with comfort at affordable prices. I might have commented on some products, WHICH I have owned and still do. For the stuffs not owned, nor I've never seen, I never comment. Since I've worn many jackets of many brands, I think I fall in the clique.

All-weather motorcycle helmet heats and cools your face, protects grey matter

Bob Averill, who introduced us to the world of underwater hamster care, had a couple of other projects to show us during our visit to Portland, Oregon, including the All-Weather Motorcycle Helmet. What, you ask, makes a motorcycle helmet "all-weather?" Why, built-in heating and cooling, of course. Averill started with a standard Vega modular helmet, adding an evaporative cooler powered by a solar panel on top. The cooler pulls air from an intake on the helmet's side, sucking up more air at higher speeds and blowing it through a sponge, across the wearer's face. When things get too cold, there's a heater built into the liner, created from a heated mouse pad and powered by a lithium battery. Averill is looking to get the project mass-produced, but that's easier said than done, when it comes to a safety products like this -- and Kickstarter, apparently, isn't playing ball. That's some news. I am sure, there needs to be homologation of some sort in getting this helmet technology approved and it's real world usage is yet to be tested by the homologation firm etc. But if it works practically and yet at a cost that masses can buy, then it should be a hot seller.

Keen on picking up the helmet shown below, but have heard negative reviews regarding Sparx. Stuff like:

"I'v tried everything from FeviQuick to rubber sealant on my Sparx helmet. Nothing worked. Plus, the swede wears out quickly as well. All in all, i would say you can use it as a second helmet. Coz the weight is quite high as well. The helmet is not available in a wide range of sizes either. Its super noisy at speeds too; made me half deaf on my ride to Chennai in 2011."

I don't know whose comments those are and cannot but feel bad for the guy, but in my experience, the Sparx S-07 is a decent helmet albeit a little pricey in India. One of the problems with buying in India is that most of the helmets available with dealers are fake. I suggest that you buy only from Performane Racing who are the authorised dealers for KBC/Sparx.

Exactly. I remember a reviewer saying the black rubber gasket like stuff that covers the bottom of the helmet used to come off in SparX helmet after a few days of usage and paint peeling off. But I wasn't able to discern whether that guy who gave the review bought it from PRS, as that page is reeeeeeeally far back in this thread.

But if it's genuine, you can always insist on warranty, for a peace of mind, else, why don't you invest that money in something good. Try PlanetDSG they have new entrants other than Daijya and NUVO. And at more or less the same price point as SparX, I'd say you can get a premium helmet if you can just extend your budget a few thousand bucks more.

i just got a half face thh helmet for rs 1850. i like it very much .the only problem is as it is half faced i dont know how to lock it.
the guy told me that i can drill a smole hole to put the lock .anyone has such a kind of hole in their helmets ??? please tell.

What do you mean, you can't lock it? It has a chin strap lock right? Or do you mean a secondary locking system for the helmet to be safe, then drilling hole in a helmet is not advisable, because in the long it ruins the structural integrity of the helmet. It's better you carry it with you, whereever you take it, as it's half face, it doesn't take a sweat to carry the helmet. Problem solved!

There is a LS2 /vega dealer in Indore .

No offense but the LS2 dealer from Indore is a rip-off.
He is selling stuff that sells for 2500 in other cities at 5000, no discounts.
I say this from personal experience.
