TIH Lids

Had been to S.M. Studios over the weekend. A brand called 'TIH' seems to have flooded the market with some really neat, DOT Certified helmets. These include both half-face as well as full-face lids (some models have dual visors) ranging from INR 800 to 3500. The high-end ones come with some useful features like the visor lock, sun visor & back reflectors. The owner, Harmesh, informed me that he expects more designs & stock to flow in by the end of March.

Personally have never seen anyone wear the TIH/THH helmets in person, but have seen them in some photos where some superbikers have work the TIH Helmets in IBW in Goa. That being said, I think THH is renaming their product to TiH for in India some reason, or at least that's what I reckon from their website.

THH is rebranded as TIH which are manufactured in India, and using dual logos on front and back of both TIH and THH

Thanks VJ, for that info. I didn't check online. Anyways, I would say the build quality is very good than Vega and most others out there. My choice was split between an LS2 Burn 'something' which had this pump at the jaw which could be used to expand the padding, much like an inflated balloon and this TIH one.

Went looking for Piston head, but it was out of stock. TIH cost me 3250, where the LS2 is priced at 3400 with only one visor, either clear or tinted.

TIH has this inner tinted visor which could be pulled up when it's needed. Pull up the clear and use the tinted one or pull up the tinted and use the clear one OR use both. No hassles with changing the visor.

TIH also has reflectors at the back, white in colour. This also has a visor lock which will lock the visor from being pulled up by wind. With air vents at mouth and temple it's good, I guess. Yet, am writing this without riding wearing it.

Yes, rightly put. I love all my helmets.

I love the not-at-all-used-currently-Steelbird helmet so much that I wear it when I'm cutting really big sized onions. Initially, my roomie used to laugh on me, but a recent incident of him cutting those "big" onions made him cry so much that he now wears his Vega (the spare one) alongside me.

BTW, I took it out for a ride. And it's amazing. No whistle noise. I can't compare it with an LS2 though. I have never used one.

Guys, I just read a news in a Malayalam daily's online edition about a guy getting hurt by an exploding helmet. Apparently he kept the helmet with his bike for about 2 hours and while on the way back the helmet broke on its own breaking that man's nose. He also has bleeding from his ears. The helmet is said to have ISI marking on it. The pic is given but cannot identify it and it's not feom any known brand I guess.

Strange, might be some locally made 300rs helmet that they sell by the road side. Still, exploding ? Lol...!!! Wonder how..

Eh! Helmet exploding? What did they swap the helmet filled with gun poweder for someone else and it accidentally was bought my someone else. Helmet exoding, lol, I think this got to be a case study. Ridiculous!

Haha. Yep! This one got cracked with force and his nose got broke and the paper said blood was oozing from his nose and ears! It got cracked open at two sides it seems. That's one hell of an explosion, right?

Just people trying to get themselves noticed with anticts, probably the helmet was a defective peace and broke and the guy added some mirchi to his story and the papers gleefully printed it to sell more copies of theirs with this cock and bull story...!!

The less we discuss about it the better.
