  • helmet for highway/long distance riding

i find open face, half helmet and brain buckets unsafe design-wise and would instead prefer full face but perspiration seem to be an issue..
so i was thinking maybe i could use motor-cross/enduro helmets with those strap goggles on highway(it goes well with hero impulse and also god forbid if i have to die,i would prefer dying looking the part )
my idea is it would give better air flow but drawback seems the noise
any alternatives or this seem a good idea?

Well, the purpose of riding is different when you are on a highway and when you are in a MX scenario. And therefore, the safety accessories are designed accordingly, be it gloves, helmets, armors, jackets etc.

And, I think since you are not often using your Impulse for off road riding, it is better to stick with that grade of material and products which are safe and sound for on-road conditions. Buying a full face helmets is the best advice that I can offer to you for now.

Further you are not comfortable with the sweating situation, hence I would like to advise you to buy helmets with good number of vents. You may surf back across this thread to find a good number of reviews available for many good helmets. Please go ahead and let us know where you ended . We'll be waiting for a review from your end.

      Warm Regards,
      Pranav

Why one wouldn't use a motocross helmets as opposed to full face on street has been banged enough on this thread, and you can get quite a lot of info by going back quite a few pages to know the merits and demerits.

To keep it simple, whether you ride a supermoto or a superbike on a road you are supposed to wear a full face helmet. Not those plastic buckets.

        Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
        The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

        THE END

Mumbai continuous rain and no Sunlight for proper drying my helmet's interior.
The interior got wet about from hairs and both straps full wet.

Now it stinks like wet cloth.

How can I dry it up ?
For stinking there are hell more ways, but if not dried soon, I'm afraid it will lead damage to Foam/ sponge of interior. :/

                            Hair dryer.

Also, buy a Balaclava. Easier to clean/dry as compared to the helmet.

Vega was my first when with D135, Then came with the cross cruze with D135 on a very short period. The cross cruze continued with dio & replacing with ls2 one. Was looking for the sol sl-48s. Due to budget dropped it .

Always full face, motocross helmets provide the same or better protection as full face according to Wikipedia but I tend to disagree
