buy a 100 or more watt bulb, a holder and a length of wire as much you need .............. keep your helmet under a support and put the glowing bulb over it while maintaining some clearance ........ let it glow for a day and check the results

coming to your question ................ with your 2000/- add a further 300/- and buy a LS2 (please ask LS2 owners for the model name) ............ I guess this may be the most legitimate solution available in your budget ................ by the way "why can't I see a location in your avatar !!" .............. if you have a location please share it, as it helps in putting a one-line direction to a shop of your native area

Not sure about opening eyes but I'm sure as hell it opened up the guy's mouth enough to munch on two Big Macs at once, I guess he's enjoying the "buy one, get one free quarter pounder" offer by McDonald's. BTW I live in Jorhat, Assam. I never bothered to update my location, maybe I'll do it this time. I'd be glad if some LS2 owner points out the exact model I should get, I'm really dumb when it comes to helmets.

I got it for 5k. Its build quality is very nice, much better than my old LS2 and Cross. The visors are also quite nice, supposedly scratch proof. I can say that they are anti fog atleast. Yesterday in heavy traffic and rains, they didn't fog much. In my LS2 I would need to open up the visor a little. I feel that this helmet has a little more wind noise as compared to my other helmets and I think that's because of empty space at the ear location, i.e. no padding where your ears your would sit.

There is a lot of myth surrounding a MX and Full face helmet. And it's those wannabes out there that bring out the trend that everyone follows. No one really cares to wear it for their protection. I've known a lot of guys just going for the MX helmet just for the sake of it, looks, price, and it somehow makes them feel LORD OF THE STREET, but that's them, can't influence ones temperament.

But both are definitely helmets, if you take a spill and you're with a MX helmet it does protect your head which is far better than wearing none at all. That's one.

Second, the shell itself, they are weak, and malleable and with enough force can be even disfigured. Whereas the shell of a Full face is pretty much strong and that's very important.

But mind you, high end MX helmets which cost a fortune are equally strong laterally and are as hard as full face, like Shoei which is my favorite brand and they are all approved by DOT specs as same as the street helmets, but the USE is where it makes the difference.

And somewhere in the middle is a dual sport which is a mix of MX and STreet for that comfort (MX) and protection (full face) and good ones like I said cost a fortune too.

But SOL offers Dual Sport helmets which are priced reasonably and can fit the bill for you.

Else if you're a starter just go for the LS2 Phobia you'll more than love it as your first helmet and it's one of the best budget helmets one can lay their hands on.

                    Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

I think I can wait, I don't own any bike currently after my last one got totaled (haven't told parents about this, I just told I sold it for 6k). I'd be really glad if you could get one from Banglore for me. I guess there would be more variations available, I checked out stores in Garh Ali today but all the helmets they have are either some 500 rupees helmet people wear to stay safe (from police ) or those helmets which are neither motocross nor full face, and they say helmets don't come with removable liner. They act like they have done research on head injury, they said "Jikunu helmet ei mur tu bosabo nuare jodi jurere pore, manuhe police e nodhoribolehe helmet pindhe" (No helmet can save your head if you fall hard, people wear helmet not to get fined by cops only).

Speaking of those hunky punky dudes riding without helmet, they must think their heads are made of titanium or eathing "khar" makes people invincible :P

Referring Garh Ali, is it the place in Jorhat? And if it is, I could see nobody ever wears a helmet in Jorhat. Interestingly, traffic cops have a dome on their head!
I had been there this week and the local guys just kept gazing at the apparel I was wearing, all the way from Sohum Shoppee to Baruah Chariali ! Fun to see it!

Yeah, place in Jorhat. You are like an alien here if you wear proper riding gear and you are the center of attraction, did you encounter those guys that vroom past you with great satisfaction clearly being displayed at their helmetless face? Guys here always do that whenever they see someone in as they say "racing dress", maybe they get the feeling "I beat a racer wearing my paragon" . You should have went near JB College or POWIET or DCB College, then you'd feel like celebrity with all the dudes taking pictures of you with their cellphone. There would be some eve teasing (Or should I say Adam teasing? :P) if you go near DCB college wearing riding gears. You could have gone to Majuli while you were in Jorhat, it's a popular tourist destination here.

encounters always happen! It was a work related trip, so couldn't do much around Jorhat. Surely will visit Majuli next time I go Jorhat.
My contact in Jorhat took me to Sibsagar and Golaghat, while he rode and was adamant to ride without helmet but once he had put on the helmet, he became reluctant to get off the bike with a saying "aetu helmet pindhi solale kiba beleg laage!"
Anyways, inbox me your number, will contact when I visit Jorhat next time. Also, LS2, Cross and few more brands are now available in Guwahati.
