I would say that you need to broaden your horizons. PRS in Mumbai has been selling Arai's for upwards of 40k for many years, while others have been successfully retailing other brands like Suomy, Nolan, and Xlite - all in the same price category and above, for years. SPG itself has sold a couple of hundred NEXX carbons in the last 18 months. Look amongst the Ninja 650, Harley Davidson and other superbike groups to find them.

BTW, looks like you were too much into helmets to gather such information. Thank you.
I wish there were options to mod a helmet with the features you mentioned above (sounds a little cunning, eh?).
I work part-time with SPG and part of my everyday routine is to study helmets and safety gear. So I have technical inanities coming out of my ears!

Hmm, guess my perception of people not using this helmet was absolutely wrong! Also goes to show that many SBKers in BLR are ill equipped with Helmets. Most SBKers I met during last year's Milestone 67 ride had LS2s () and KBC helmets. A particular Busa rider was very proud in saying that he had the best gear money could buy.
He had some 8k wala helmet (forgot the name) + leather riding gear. Hence I quoted the same above.

Guess what, I need some more time to get mature before I lay hands on a more powerful mill!
      Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Please suggest a good quality light weight (preferably carbon fiber made) Motocross style Helmet with visor which can be delivered to Mumbai. I already have a Cross helmet but its too heavy causing neck pain.

If I have to drop a point here, please allow me, betting my earnest money on a manufacturer who has almost zero after sales support is a complete waste as I feel even if the product is a total value for money product.

Further more, it has become a very common practice by most of the home brands of helmet here to launch new product every now and then to attract the customers and actually many of us have for once in our life fallen to such traps (including me) . While we are yet to witness such a hurry with the reputed brand dealing in helmets of ECE/DOT standards.

ISI is a good safety standard but most of the manufacturers following it have compromised their own manufacturing and materials standards recently. Other than the stringent safety standards (and therefore more safe concious) followed by these ECE/DOT helmets, they do have better shape geometry and comfort features to tackle high speed wind. And that literally makes them stand ahead in the league.

I have one and being a proper DOT spec, it is not light. I'm pretty sure it will be heavier than your current Cross. If you don't mind the weight though, its a very good helmet.

Further more if I put up a simple relative velocity maths (say RVM) here for a virtual scene, let's say two sccoties or anything are running at 60 kmph and accidentally came head-on during which their speeds were reduced to somewhere near 40 kmph then as per RVM velocity of impact for both the persons turn out to be 40+40 = 80 kmph and that's bloody good speed. So, please don't count a scooty collision to be a slower one
There is a research that clearly states speeds as low as 20-30KMPH is enough to kill a person if his/her is exposed to a head-on collision or serious head injury. Add just 10 KMPH more and you are in the prime range for instant death, severe head injury etc.

Let me tell you the situation in my place - Guys ride insanely mostly with gears like a cap & goggles, it's all about impressing you know!! Girls those who have two wheelers are stars among their peer group, even though they do not ride that fast, there will always be some biker types lingering around the star... I know my sister is gentle & very scared of me even though there will be emotional outburst at times. We discuss personal things with a serious face but I still care for her (hope you get the kind of relationship between us). As of now I have already given her some gyan, the xBhp way!! & deposited some money for a helmet. Since SOL, LS2, Airoh etc. are unavailable there, I am sure she's gonna go for half-faced ones. But still, have asked her to buy a good Studds with ISI. I'll carry the SOL in my visit. Till then lectures will continue to brainwash her Cheers, ride safe!!
All the very best. I want you to post the pic that you've bought for your little sister. Not a review as such, but just so that you've got the right full face helmet for her.

The discussion is not related to the price, but the make and safety standards these helmets follow. To give you an example, till a year back I'd a Steelbird SB28 helmet. Cost me 1900 rupees in Chennai.

It is heavier than my LS2 and offers good wind protection as well. Does it look cheap or bad to anyone out here? But, in general other "phoren" made helmets undergo more stringent certifications and hence better protection offered, at least; for peace of mind. I find this helmet equivalent in protection to my LS2 at least.
Well, this gotta be started this way. Once upon a time, even before LS2, Vega, studds etc, Steelbird defined what a helmet should be. Ask any oldtimer who rides and about helmets, they'd probably say either Steelbird of Studds, and the Studds Ninja my all time favorite helmet, it's like the RX 100 of helmets. Definitely it doesn't look cheap, it was the best helmets at that time at an affordable price, and still does.

So it's purely a matter of personal summation of what one has. Of course you can't compare an 800cc with a Swift. But both the 800cc and Swift rule/ruled and had their fair share at their own times.

Adonis looks like a bird face when looked up from far. I was always sold for buying one years back, afer which I decided to go for another one. Not that it's inferior as such, I just didn't like the design. But the shell is real strong from all the sides, especially the rear of the head, real strong, very light weight and good field of vision. And of my friend has it too. Build quality apart from the shell is not too good, but okay for a budget helmet.

The only thing in this helmet that's good is it's shell, which is quite strong for a such a light weight helmet, but that's about it. And basically it's just a low-end helmet.

                        Cheers!
