  • Re: Helmets

A bad case of memory loss means my Sparx Rebel is back in Kerala and I am without a helmet

I have zeroed in on the HJC CL ST 2 after trawling through the net. Request any of the users to give a small review (or any other good ones).

P.S: My requirement is mainly 1.quiet 2. easily removable visor - helmet for long distance touring (the rebel did quiet well in that front). Budget can be stretched to 10k if needed.

    Regards,
    Mithun

      Prateek,

I have the 2013 AGV catalogue and it shows the K3 being sold next to the K4, so I don't think it's old stock.

      Lasky,

Just out of morbid curiosity, which helmet did you purchase? I mean the model?

My mistake then, the reason I said this because a friend wanted K3, although he got one after many attempts. Everywhere he asked they said its not in stock anymore.

K3 is still available. But thing is K3 is now in SALE everywhere around US with all VR46 designs, so the availability is rather difficult.

You should have checked a lil bit on the thread. Anyways, on this thread flip-up helmets have been condemned mostly because you can't assure the goodness of the flip-up chin of the helmet in case of a fatal road accident.

The only "kind" of helmet which has been recommended by the seniors is the full face helmet. Since you have provided your budget upto 5k, you may look at SOL (most recommended in this price), LS2 and Cross helmets.

For SOL: try here ::.MEANDERING INDIA.::

For LS2: Try Speedking, Karol bagh

For Cross: Try Chopra Auto, Karol Bagh (actually I don't have an exact idea of the genuine Cross Dealers in Delhi, but surely there must be some)

P.S. Kindly search the thread while you choose to put up a query, it will actually help you up instantly with the previous discussions, without making you wait for someone to respond

Thanks Bro.. I tried to check out the thread but due to a busy schedule i had checked only first 3 and last 2 - 3 pages of the thread. I liked these flip up helmets just because of the looks..

Anyways i will checkout now as per your suggestions.

Whatever you do, try not to source your best from Karol Bagh, for reasons well worth it. But you can try other reputed vendors. It's not to diss Karol Bagh, but KB is always a mixed bag with it comes to stuff and 90% plus stuff is clear knock-off stuffs and if one is not well aware, you can end up paying the right amount for the wrong stuff. Just a discretion.

                        Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                        The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

I called up MEANDERING INDIA today for SOL SF-1 WHITE (Full Face).

Why don't you contact SPG directly, they can ship the stuff you need from their Chennai warehouse, though with added courier charges. Shoot them a mail and they can perhaps sort out the issues you have.
