Actually, even SPG is out of stock of many models right now as there was a delay in shipping of the last container. New stocks are expected to arrive in September second week. Also expect a hike in the prices to reflect the current dollar-rupee ratio.Originally posted by xpranav View PostI already told you that SOL is your best bet in this price segment ........ Lasky,Originally posted by lasky View PostSunny sir its ff351 plain gloss black color.
AFAIK, the FF351 is not SHARP rated. It is the FF350 which has 4 stars rating and it weighs 1650gms. There is no mention in the SHARP website in fact of the FF351, though several others are. Please note that the lightest appears to be 1400gms.
Am I missing something?

Re: Helmets
I had confirmed the certification and the authorised distributor in India from ls2 Spain before purchasing the helmet. They confirmed that the ff 350 and ff 351 is one and the same model.Just for differing the graphics some helmets come with ff 350.77 and likewise numbers and some with ff 351.15 etc. They confirmed. That both ff 350 and ff 351 meet the sharp 4 star safety standard and many rumors are floating around ls2 quality just because of the made in china tag. They assured that ls2 meets all safety requirements for ece/dot certification.the weight confirmed by them was 1300+-50 gms and the same was mentioned on the helmet i purchased on the ece sticker. I quizzed the laxmi auto guys regarding fake ls2. They said those are imported by the local traders and they have chinese wordings on the visors and dont carry the ece certification. They said one can buy even a few 10 pcs from the local china market, there are replicas of agv, arai, shoei as well. They assured as long as customers buy from their dealer network they will get a genuine ls2.Originally posted by Sunnyside_up! Re: Helmets
It's kind of confounding to realize that a reputed guy reporting that genuine stuffs are sold from his side, and fakes are sold elsewhere. But I hope he has the best. Just curious does this guy give any kind of warranty as such? Stating that he's genuine, if you happen to drop by his shop one more time, just ask the reseller does he offer warranty, replacement etc. Just curious.Originally posted by lasky View PostI had confirmed the certification and the authorised distributor in India from ls2 Spain before purchasing the helmet. They confirmed that the ff 350 and ff 351 is one and the same model.Just for differing the graphics some helmets come with ff 350.77 and likewise numbers and some with ff 351.15 etc. They confirmed. Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Lasky,
The SHARP website clearly mentions that the 4 star rated FF350 weighs 1640 gms. SHARP Helmets - LS2 FF350 Mono
How can then the FF351 which weighs a good 340 gms less (about 20% lighter) be one and the same model? It doesn't add up. If it is the same model, and carries a different model number just for the graphics, it should still weigh the same, right? And every model has to get its own certification, right? i would assume that's why they have other models listed in the SHARP website too.
Isnt it strange that a helmet that looks the same but is 20% lighter and not mentioned in the rating agency's website can share the same certification? Did you get a mail from LS2 stating this or was this something the dealer said?

I examined some CROSS lids 2 days ago... and I felt padding was horrible.. shell wasnt so great either. So much so, that Studds scorpion looked much better option than that. -_-
Now this was at Helmet World near Ranigunj, Hyderabad.
Quoted price was 3800, (ofcourse open to negotiation)... but still I had to resist the temptation of smacking the helmet on his head.

Re: Helmets
Yesterday I went to Meandering India to look at SOL helmets. I had Hornett and Dragon in mind. The shell and padding of both the helmets are same but the external design and ventilations differ. Also dragon has led lights at the back. I liked the look of dragon and placed an order for it (white )as medium size was not in stock.
One thing i noticed was that few of the models (SF1 etc) had UV400 tag on the visors and few did not. The salesman stated that visors are same for all models and have UV protection. Can anyone confirm if this is the case as there is no mention of UV protection on the Pro-gear website.

The white SF1 was present there and the price was INR 4800.Last edited by AmitRavi07; 08-26-2013, 01:04 PM.

Re: Helmets
Most shipments of SOL since MAY have had the UV400 tag on the visor. All SOL visors in all models sold in India today have an anti-UV coating to prevent the user getting sun-burn even with the clear visor.Originally posted by AmitRavi07 View PostYesterday I went to Meandering India to look at SOL helmets. The SF1 is priced at Rs.4920/- . Local taxes depending on the state should see it reach about Rs.5660/-.
