I remember seeing only sol and some of the higher end stuff by HJC, but I think they could source AGV on request.

Personally I always found megha a bit too commercial, and yes it does qualify as malpractice as they are definitely charging over the prescribed price.
I am not sure if they do this to recover the money they pay to spg as taxes or to just increase their commisions a little while giving the government its due

SPG does not charge VAT for helmets sold in TN as there is no VAT on helmets in TN. Karnataka does require VAT extra, hence the increased cost. Megha did not cheat you.

All apparel prices are inclusive of VAT and should be the same throughout the country as advertised on the SPG website. Real world practice however is for dealers to sometimes charge one or two percent more to cover local transport and handling costs. Anything more is unwarranted. You can and should demand the advertised prices for apparel.

Hi guys,

I use a Ninja 3G.. The helmet is good but it lacks a breath guard. Is it possible to attach a breath guard? It becomes very difficult to ride in rains as the fog builds up on the visor as soon as I take a deep breath or breathing in traffic when the speed of the bike is 5-10kmph.. Most of the times I have to take the visor up but then the rain splashes my specs... :banghead:

I understand, I face exactly the same problem with my helmet and it fogs almost every time, solution? I just leave a teeny-tiny gap at the end of the opening ust to allow the air to flow inside the helmet to resist fogging.

But no, breath guards cannot be attached to the Ninja and most budget local helmets as you can see at the front,it's just a small tapered plastic that is screwed to the helmet (near your mouth) whereas other higher end helmets have dedicated notches for them to slot the breath guard and removal and most importantly it shouldn't interfere or obstruct your vision or touch your face as such, as overtime they might cause rashes. So best would be to get a new helmet or try keeping some gap at the end of the visor just to allow ample to de-fog.

Yes have seen this thread, thanks. But if you really are concerned about the visor getting scratched, the I'd say not to use any abrasion causing stuffs. I've seen many people use soft tissue on their visor which is really good. No matter what, helmets without proper antifog film will get fogged, and I use the tissue only to wipe droplets after the ride, not on the ride, as it's pretty much useless. Moreover using a tissue after the ride, means your visor is subjected from less scratch inducing stuff.

I personally don't recommend tobacco as such, some will be akin and some will not. But I for one would stick to opening the end a little bit and deflecting my breath using my mouth downward to an extent if it fogs real bad, may seem clumsy but it works to an extent. But once one the move, 98% of the time the fog gets settled away with the visor on or off, it's just that when you're idle or really slow this issue of fogging occurs.

I usually keep a soft cloth in the pocket and use when the mud/dirt/ water sprinkle from truck, bus etc. makes the visor dirty... as soon as I stop at a signal, I quickly clean the visor..takes 15-20 seconds.. But I don't clean them if there is just wet muddy splash kind of things as it ruins the vision... Till then I wait for the rain to clean the stuff from the visor..


During group ride in rains, I use my glove's rubber kind of material present at the thumb to wipe the water..they do the wiping job perfectly..And thus, I stick to the group instead of stopping again and again after few kms :-)

Booked my KTM Duke 390 today, now looking for a helmet to go with it. Budget for the helmet is 8k. The problem is i live in Nagpur,Maharashtra and i dont know any stores that sell quality helmets. Would it be prudent to buy online can someone suggest some good websites?

Some recommendations would be nice. Also if i could get one that matches the paint scheme of the duke 390 would be nice. Oh and it will be a full face helmet. Thanks.

Checked out some helmets at the SPG website. I am confused between the SOL SL68s Dragon and the SL68s II Metal Man. Which of the two is better? I am unaware about the differences between the dual sport and full face except for the obvious difference being looks, The SOL SS1 Ultimate seems decent and it also comes in orange
