        Requirements:
        1)Built in sun visor
        2) very good ventilation to keep the head cool & maintain fog to minimum during rain rides.
        3)DOT certified

Anything better than spartan SOL SF1 ACME ? (available at spartan store on ECR)

        Any suggestions guys ?

If possible please tell me where in Chennai I could buy it
You can get good helmets like Sparx, HJC etc for the above price range. But they won't have internal visors. You can try Nuvo and Daijya. Both have got internal visors and fall in your price bracket as well.

But again, it was a crash at 40-50 kmph. A Studds helmet won't save me (or you) all our life, as we move on to more powerful machines and higher average speeds.

Please keep these points in mind:

        1. Liking a helmet would be more of an emotional opinion, rather than a rational one. And its definitely not wrong.
But, in that case, its better to keep it as a memory on a shelf than ride with it.
Specially so, if its not designed in compliance to the safety standards needed for the purpose. Modular helmet would be good enough for some 40-50 kmph commuting, with frontal lid closed. And beyond that, a well made full face should do.

        2. Most manufacturers recommend that you replace a helmet after a crash, as the actual damage might not be visible externally. And its a fact. A slightly damaged helmet won't show a dent at all. Its not metal. In fact, it will appear flawless even if it isn't.

        3. Science is Science. Even a half face ARAI won't be able to provide full protection, and that's a fact. Its not recommended to use a half face helmet anywhere, even in commuting. You jaw needs protection.
I had a similar story...crashed but head was safe but my chin got some cuts due the movable part unlocking itself due to the hit. Then on I realised a full face helmet is the safest. Now I have LS2 and Sparx.

I had sent a query to SPG for SOL helmets almost a week back using the form on their website but havent heard back from them yet. Do they respond to the queries they get on their websites or do i need to call them or something?

Nothing pressing, I just wanted to buy a helmet from them but there is no way to buy it online, just a form that tells me to input my email and phone number. So should i wait for them to call me or email me with the further details or should i call them?

Anyone who purchased from them online could throw some light on it?

Perhaps Sunnyside_up! can chime in, but I don't think anyone has bought directly from their website, the website doesn't support an online sale gateway but can be done via contacting them directly so they can help you out in this regard. Most chaps call them up or visit their store!

Airoh (available through Bachoo Motors) will suit you the most as far as light weight is considered ........... but then I have a query for you ........... did you try a search across this thread (before putting up your query) to avail an instant reply from the past posts and discussions ?

One of my friends bought SOL helmet from DJ Helmets in Kochi in Kerala. Im unsure about its authenticity.
. Kindly help me find out if its genuine or not.

there is only a chinese sticker inside the detachable pad.

the inner crust of helmet, ie after detachable pad seems poor in eyes. have not seen SOL helmet, so asking members here...visor gets scratched easily..the website says its anti scratch...
