Use the 'Search Thread' function. Use it to search for the posts about fastrack helmets. What is there to get so confused in this matter??
Most members advised you against those fastrack plastic bucket. You need a helmet for your Dio right. So let me put this straight:
    1. Get a full face helmet. They look cool and offer better protection than open face helmets. Yes, they do look good with the Dio.
    2. IIRC you mentioned that your budget is 2-3k. So according to that get a LS2 or if possible extend your budget a little and get the new MT helmets.
    3. You also get a variety of color and graphics option in helmets of both these brand which will definitely go well with your Dio and also offer much greater protection and style than those fastrack plastic buckets.

I hope i have cleared all your doubts.

MT helmets have the same/similar chin air vent design to HJC.I saw the MT axxis and didn't feel anything special about the build quality or finish.the shape is super oviod compared to ls2/Sol/sparx;helps with the aerodynamics I think.but for the price u do get dual certification.

I too checked the axxis and braking models from MT. My initial impression was that they have pretty good quality (both shell and padding) and are also a lot lighter than my Sparx helmets. I think the weight mentioned is around 1.5kgs and my Sparx weighs around that too, but, still there is a noticeable difference in weight. For the price point, I think they are the best vfm right now.

Guys, I humbly ask for your help in choosing a good helmet. I'm going for a track day on my Duke 390, and the Steelbird Modular helmet I own now, is NOT what I want to take there, for my safety... For 50-70 kmph commuting ,maybe it is somewhat ok, but not beyond that.

I've chosen three helmets, all within my budget:

Spartan ProGear (I like this helmet, but it mentions "touring" only, not racing)
Spartan ProGear (Seems a good helmet to me)
Spartan ProGear (It mentions, "now lighter and more aerodynamic for the track and street." but its the cheapest here. Is it durable enough? or more due to no sunglasses, etc?)

Which is supposed to be most durable among these 3? Any other in my budget range?

                    My needs are:

                    1. Strong Durable Full Face helmet (no modular), not necessarily the strongest in the world, but it should protect me well. I own a Duke 390 by the way.
                    2. Additional features like sunglasses built in, LED tailights, etc. are welcome. They should NOT compromise with a helmet's durability.
                    3. No need for any specific color/ Graphics. But, it should be ok for Track usage in terms of durability, conformance, etc.
                    4. Budget around Rs. 6000. Negotiable slightly, for a really "damn good" deal.
                    5. No Wind noise (Steelbird Helmets make me deaf due to wind noise!), better quality optical visors than the Indian helmets.
They should be usable for the street too.

Please suggest me keeping in mind that I need to buy it before 10th March and order online before 5th March. Thanks in advance.

Hello Buddy, If you can compromise on city use i suggest you Airoh Speed Fire ( Starts from Rs 7K /- ). Am using it since past 7 Months and i had a worst crash on it and it saved my head and the chin very well. I have done speeds upto 150Kmph wearing it and i found it really good and sturdy.

You have to compromise on LED's and other blah blah. This Airoh Speed Fire is a high-speed, track, touring oriented helmet with very very well built quality.

On the maintenance part its a bit on high side. After i survived the crash i had to change the visor along with its clips, visor costed me Rs 2K/- and visor clips costed me Rs 1K/- but its worth the money keeping safety in mind.

                      .............................

SOL SF-1 i have suggested it to two of my friends after checking and testing it. Its a bit heavy and u might end with neck pain if u r using it in city and on highways its a bliss. The things which u are looking for ( LED'S e.t.c., ) are present in this model. Am not sure though regarding the track use of this particular model. But for touring point of view its a 10/10 as it has got internal sun visor too.

And if u r going for this model get White coloured one. Its very very attractive.... SOL SF-1 costed u around ( Rs 6400/- ).

                      ................................

I have started using Vega Axor ( Matt Black coloured ) helmet since past 2 weeks which i bought it from Flipkart for Rs 1854 /- . It's a DOT certified one and in city i felt it really good and its attractive too especially with Mercury visor. I have tested it upto speeds of 100Kmph and found it not completely silent but for that price point i should say it fared very well.

These are my points. Let me know once u made a purchase what ever the helmet it might be

                          Among the listed options:

SF1 is a touring helmet and is on the heavier side, i don't think it would be comfortable for track purpose.

I feel, the best bet in those options is the SL68sII. Its lighter than SF1 and pretty aerodynamic as well. Also, SL68sII with orange metalman graphics would go pretty well with your D390.

Never tried the SL68S / Odyssey, so cant comment.
Other than these, you can slightly increase budget and go for the Airoh helmets as mentioned by Sandeep Patnala.
It's a lot like nuts and bolts - if the rider's nuts, the ride - bolts!

All the three helmets wont fulfil your 5th requirement. SOLs are a bit on the noisy side when compared to HJC and KBC. Even Sparx has better noise protection. As mentioned by Sandeep, if you can extend your budget some more then Airoh and KBC are both better options. Coming back to SOL helmets, the 68S and 68SII have the same shell construction, with only design changes and changes in vents. The 68s are more track focused since they are made from multiple shells (3 as mentioned in the website). I dont know any other brand, including the above mentioned brands that have multiple shells in their construction. If you want a track focused helmet, I would suggest you go for either of the 68s. They offer very good protection for the money and you wont regret it. I would go so far as to say that the protection offered by SOL is greater than the entry level helmets of reputed brands like HJC, Sparx, etc.
Hope to see you on the track day (i guess you are referring to the one being organized by KTM).

I had to struggle a bit to wear a Large MT Axxis Helmet, the fit becomes too tight when wearing especially near the ears. But once I wore it, it was comfortable and outside sound is almost blocked. I followed instructions on Sharp website regarding testing a helmet; when I rotated head from left to right very quickly (< 1 Sec), the helmet is wobbling on my head. It's a bit loose and I'd like to add some padding inside the helmet; are there any dangers in adding padding to a helmet like blocking ventilation or worse any safety risks? Kindly help by throwing some light on the issue. Store guy told me that smaller Medium size may be even more tight at the ears while wearing, so if padding is not an option then I've to look for other brands.
